Yandy Smith Teases RHOA Move After Love & Hip Hop Exit

Earlier this year, VH1 finally took Love & Hip Hop off life support, ending the years-long docu-soap. That means Yandy Smith is out of a job after nearly 15 years of appearances across both Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and New York. Now that her VH1 days are over, would she consider picking up a peach on The Real Housewives of Atlanta? These days, anything is possible.

Of course, RHOA producers kicked off Season 17 with the unprecedented decision to add K. Michelle to the cast — the first time a Love & Hip Hop cast member has been invited into the Bravoverse. With that door now open, Yandy made it clear she’d be willing to walk through it too.

The Neighborhood Talk recently caught up with her and her bestie, Married to Medicine star Quad Webb, and Yandy told the outlet that she’d “absolutely explore” the opportunity to join RHOA if Bravo ever came calling. Apparently, she already has one foot in the door.

“I’m really close to Porsha [Williams], close to Shamea [Morton Mwangi], Kelli [Potter] is my girl — like, these are my real friends outside of camera, so it would be a natural relationship for sure,” Yandy explained.

On paper, it already sounds like she might be a more natural fit than K. Michelle, but Yandy said she’s not rushing into another reality show. After all of those years in the genre, she’s focused on pushing her career in other directions first.

“But I’m kind of great where I am,” Yandy admitted. “Reality TV, it’s been almost 20 years for me. Wow, so I got two movies I’m shooting this year…Stay tuned for that. That is really my focus right now. And then the opportunity, if God willing, things come around that circle back to reality TV. I’ll certainly explore it.”

Yandy isn’t the only former Love & Hip Hop star eyeing a spot on Real Housewives these days. Joseline Hernandez recently petitioned Andy for a spot on The Real Housewives of Miami amid its recent hiatus. Clearly, K. Michelle may have started a trend.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs every Sunday at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
