Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd

The discord between Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd went from zero to one hundred – real quick. Right off the bat these two did not get along and there was really no real reason for it. That initial tension escalated into some insanely sketchy shit: i.e. Shannon’s out of control ’70s themed party.

It’s still up for debate whether or not Shannon ambushed Kelly when her rude friends took digs at Kelly and her marriage. It looks super shady in all honesty. I don’t believe for one second that Shannon had no idea that those women knew Kelly, but it’s hard for me to figure out if that whole interaction was premeditated or not. And Shannon and Kelly have very different views of their history.

Both of the OC Housewives spoke out about their relationship with each other in interviews with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. Weirdly enough, they both said that they liked each other at first. I have no idea what “at first” could mean since it seemed like they had tension between them pretty much right away at Heather Dubrow’s yacht party on Real Housewives of Orange County.

In regard to the comment’s Kelly made about Shannon’s alma mater USC, Kelly explained that she was only joking and made a joke that she says is pretty common: “I was kidding around with her. Everybody says, ‘University of Spoiled Children.’ It was a joke. Everybody says that. That’s just a normal thing to say.”

For reasons I could never understand, Shannon thought the two of them had a good time when they first me, “We had a nice time, so I don’t understand where all the negativity came out. But clearly, she’s not a fan of Shannon Beador.” Well, yes. Obviously.

For once I agree with Kelly after reading her take on the night. She described Shannon as “cold” and “rude.” Kelly was way over the top and rude, but she is not wrong about her assessment of Shannon from that party.

And obviously these two don’t agree on anything, except for the fact that they cannot stand each other and there’s no chance that they will become friends. Kelly said, “I don’t think she and I would ever be friends just because we have completely different senses of humor. She doesn’t get me. She clearly doesn’t like me.”

Kelly took more digs at Shannon when she said, “I don’t think I have anything in common with the lady, to be honest. She’s not [a] fun-loving, happy-go-lucky kind of a woman, and I don’t really see eye-to-eye with people that are negative. She is a ‘Negative Nancy’ to me. I don’t think I could ever be friends with somebody who always talks crap.”

Obviously, Shannon doesn’t cite the same differences, but she does agree with Kelly about them not getting along. Shannon said, “I don’t know if I can be friends with Kelly. Not close friends, because we’re just too different. We have a lot of different philosophies on life. We’re kind of like oil and water.” That oil and water analogy is the understatement of the century.

I know it makes no sense, but if Kelly sticks around for a season or two, I bet these two will end up becoming friends. Stranger things have happened on this show.
