Luann de Lesseps tied the knot with Tom D’Agostino Jr. on New Year’s Eve in a lavish “half-million” dollar wedding in Miami, Fl, however some guests gripe that Luann and Tom requested last-minute tacky gifts. The big news however is that guests dished that Bravo cameras were nowhere to be found!
According to a guest, the Real Housewives Of New York star had requested donations made to charities in lieu of wedding gifts, but two days prior to the event guests were sent an email suggesting they instead donate to a GoFundMe campaign for an ill relative’s medical expenses.

“LuAnn and Tom are both very rich —,” griped an unidentified attendee. “[They should] write a check to their relative and not hustle their wedding guests for cash.”

Specifics about the relative or their medical condition wasn’t given but some guests complained the request was “tacky.”
“You’re going to spend a half-million-plus on a wedding, and then ask your friends to cough up for your relative’s Band-Aids?,” they scoffed to Page Six.
Exempting the gifts snafu, attendees gushed that the affair exhibited class and sophistication befitting of a countess!
“It really didn’t seem like a reality star’s wedding,” they exclaimed. “There weren’t cameras in your face” and there was no production staff “asking you to sign releases.”
In fact, Tom and Luann even allowed guests to bring cell phones and snap pics. Rumor has it days before the wedding Luann feuded with Bravo over filming the event and instead decided to use her own videographers, who would then release footage to the network (ala what Pandora did in her wedding during season 2 of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills). Luann also reportedly entered into an ‘exclusive’ contract with People to photograph and cover the wedding, which meant Bravo couldn’t get the advanced scoop. Apparently production was quite pissed!

I personally wouldn’t want my big day overrun by cameras and focusing on drama for RHONY. I think Luann made the right choice to focus on the occasion, not on reality TV. Luann had already gone against the network’s wishes by not inviting all of her castmates. Real Housewives is fleeting, love … well, it’s not supposed to be!
