Whether a house in foreclosure, a Housewife “decides to downsize,” or a home is in someone else’s name, this is a constant plot point in the Real Housewives franchise. Unfortunately for Karen Huger, it’s her turn to discuss her home and gossip about her renting a house overnight.
Most of the time, I find it tough to believe that any Housewife would decide to move to a less prominent zip code or downsize because she wants to be more low key. None of these women are low key – they are reality stars. Usually, this happens because she has to make changes, not because she actually wants to and Karen‘s Real Housewives of Potomac co-stars are going to call her out for some (alleged) fakery this season.

I find it so hard to care about anything that Karen talks about. I’m trying my best to get into this show, but it just seems like everything she says is such bullshit. From the annoying etiquette rules to constantly asserting herself as the HBIC of the group to her annoying declaration that her husband is the “black Bill Gates,” nothing she says seems authentic and every thing she says gets repeated…. twenty million times over.
In her Bravo blog, Karen was asked about her house search. Does anyone actually believe that she just decided to “search” for a house? This seems like a classic case of Real Housewives real estate-centered story line to me. Nevertheless, Karen feigned, “The search for our next home is challenging. Ray wants what he wants and I want what I want. This is a very stressful time. Thank God I married a man that believes in compromising. Ultimately ‘just the right’ house for me will be the ‘just the right’ house for us.”
Also, now the Black Bill Gates is Dr. Black Bill Gates, as if one arbitrary title wasn’t enough for the viewers to take in. Karen explained that additional prefix: “Raymond recently received an Honorary Doctoral Degree for his lifetime of work and achievement in Business. Now there’s no confusion he’s my very own Dr. Black Bill Gates (DOCTOR BBG).”

And for some reason everyone in this cast just loves sharing an opinion about every move Ashley Darby makes, so it’s not too surprising that Gizelle Bryant decided to stir up drama and speculate about something scandalous going on between Ashley and her partner for some random dancing competition.
It seemed like Karen was on Ashley’s side at first since she said, “Ashley’s dance performance was all that!” But of course Karen added some additional shade: “The girl can hump and this time for a good cause. All I can say about Gizelle Bryant’s comments about Teon and Ashley is that from where I’m standing the comments were dead on. Ashley’s expressed curiosity about Teon’s sexual preference and Michael’s standing off to the corner of the stage looking like a lost pup. NEED I say more?”
Am I the only one who feels like Karen and Gizelle were overreacting about this one?
