Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Insists She Is “Much Freer” Than She Seems On Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

Aside from getting dragged into arguments about glassware and hotel stays, the viewers really haven’t had the chance to “get to know” Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this year. There have been the gratuitous interrogations about what it was like for her to grow up as John Mellencamp’s daughter, but she hasn’t had a lot of spotlight on her own personal life.

That might not have anything to do with the story lines or editing. Even Teddi herself admits that she just wasn’t herself while she was filming this season.

In an interview for Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast, Teddi was asked, “Was anything surprising watching back? Usually when a Housewife is asked that question they say something about being surprised watching the other cast members do on-camera interviews, but Teddi didn’t throw anyone else under the bus.

She joked, “I make a lot of faces. I had no idea how expressive I was. Why am I spending all this money on Botox if my face can move so much? Who makes this many faces? I can’t with this.”

And I’m sure she will be making all of those facial expressions during the reunion taping, even though she feels like she is not ready for that long day of filming. Teddi hypothesized, “I feel like I should go to the reunion with a stool and I’ll sit on the side.” She said, “I think it’s just a safe place, my own little safe place area.” Then she admitted, “I do not feel primed and ready for the reunion, but hopefully it will be fun. Hopefully through the drama, we’ll work through it all and we’ll be in a good place.” I don’t know about that one. Usually these reunions just provide some material to argue about at the beginning of the following season.

No matter how the taping goes, it seems like Teddi should be alright since she shared, “People have been really amazing toward me, which is nice.” Even so she admits, “I mean, I’ve gotten some negative as well, which I try not to read into too much. For me, I’m kind of taking it with a grain of salt. I’m appreciative for it, but I know it can turn just like that.”

Teddi is all about the positive attitude- even when it comes to people she doesn’t like. She revealed, “on all of my social media everything, I say ‘Listen you can dog on me all you want, but don’t dog on the other girls on my stuff.’ She added, “Within our friend group, if we want to throw a little shade here and there, that’s fine, but I don’t need to be promoting somebody else talking crap about somebody.”

Even though Teddi feels like she’s getting a mostly positive perception, she doesn’t feel like people are seeing enough of her true personality. She explained, “I think on the show, I’m a little more in my head than I am in my day-to-day life. I am a very structured person. I’m never late. I’m organized. I have a to-do list. I am as Type A as they come, so that’s authentic to me, but I’m a little bit freer. On the show, I feel like because I don’t know these women well in the beginning, so I’m a little bit more reserved. In real life, I am constantly laughing with my friends. As the time goes, you see that in me more with the women that I’m more comfortable with.”
