Just like most grandmas who are on social media, Caroline Manzo loves posting photos of her granddaughter Markie. However, the last one she shared did not go over well with her followers. Plenty of commenters took issue with the toddler’s outfit and made sure to let Caroline know.
As expected, Caroline had a strong reaction to the backlash. After all, this is the same woman who uttered the infamous line “Let me tell you something about my family. We’re as thick as thieves and protect each other ‘til the end.” And that’s exactly what she did by commenting on her own post in her granddaughter’s defense.
It all started innocently enough. Caroline shared a photo of her granddaughter on Instagram with the caption “She got all dressed up to surprise uncle @chrismanzo at work- my Markie.”
Some people were not feeling the child’s crop top and The OG Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member got defensive with a comment of her own.
Caroline commented, “Dear everyone, if we are going to have a full on breakdown over a child wearing a crop top I think it’s time to remove yourself from social media. Or, more specifically, my social media. I’m really amazed at the courage you have under the protection of a computer or smart phone. I have read some of the most ridiculous comments regarding Markie’s outfit, my favorite being that we should follow Princess Charlotte’s example how to present ourselves. Do you realize how foolish that sounds? For those who’ve made remarks about her dressing like a stripper etc… I only have one thing to say…. you’re disgusting. So to put myself in your world and mind, GO FUCK YOURSELVES. For those that took the photo as it should be, a sweet little girl, wearing a sweet little outfit, many thanks. Have a great day.”
