Joe Giudice hasn’t set foot in the United States since his deportation in October 2019. After serving three and a half years in federal prison for fraud and tax evasion, the former Real Housewives of New Jersey star was sent back to Italy, his country of birth.
He works as a constrution contractor in the Bahamas since 2021. Joe’s previous requests for an appeal have been denied. And while Joe has zero interest in the American dream anymore, he does want the option to visit his four daughters. So where is Teresa Giudice’s ex-husband in terms of head-space these days?
Joe says “I definitely don’t think I should have been deported…”
“I definitely don’t think I should have been deported,” Joe told Page Six. Despite living in the USA since he was a baby, ICE deported Joe after he finished his sentence. He spent another seven months in ICE custody.
These days, the Bahamas “pretty much” is home base for the former Bravolebrity.
“I was [in the US] since I was a year old. I have four kids there. And I was married. Got my whole family there. I mean, it was my fault that I got deported because I should have just became [sic] a citizen a long time ago, so I’m not blaming anybody. You know, it was my fault. I had a chance to become a citizen many, many times,” Joe shared.
Had he acquired citizenship, Joe thinks he would have ended up with “a little misdemeanor” for the “stupid” and “minimal” crimes. Perhaps he would have been looking at “13 months … 14 months.”
The former RHONJ star continued, “But being that I wasn’t a citizen, I had to do all that extra time and go through all that. But it’s not only me going through whatever I went through. I mean, my poor kids, you know what I mean? My ex, my family. They had to go through a lot as well.”
Joe notably requested a pardon from Donald Trump. The President never publicly acknowledged it. However, the former reality TV star is “not going to sit around and do nothing waiting … to go back to the States.”
He shared, “I don’t wanna live [in the US]. I really don’t wanna live there. All I wanna do is be able to go to my daughters’ graduations. You know, when we have Easter, we have Christmas, holidays. Because it’s a lot for my family, for everybody, to come here.”
Joe is staying “busy.” He is launching personalized “Juicy Joe” tours in Nassau.
