Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson is back for Season 14 after making it through her freshman year as a Housewife. Emily, unlike some other ladies, survived her first season relatively unscathed. She wasn’t arrested, her marriage remains intact and she didn’t declare bankruptcy. Yet, Emily was still invited back for another season!
In every Housewife cast, you need a voice of reason. On RHOC, that person would be Emily. She seems like an open book and was willing to share her life with viewers, from fertility issues to a complicated relationship with her mother. Emily recently discussed something a little less serious on Twitter, setting the record straight regarding false information about her age that pops up on the internet.
A Bravo fan account recently tweeted, “If @RealOCEmily is 54, she looks amazing! I want her plastic surgeon if that’s the case.”
Taking the opportunity to clear up questions about her age, Emily responded, “I’m 43 peeps! Zero idea why Google@Google says I’m 54. And no comments like “she’s lying about her age”…if I was going to lie about my age, I would say I was 35! #googlegetitright #rhoc #i’m 43.”
Understandably, Emily might be a bit miffed with 11 years being added to her age as it would put her in Vicki Gunvalson territory, minus a few years. And minus more than a few of Vicki’s cosmetic enhancements!
Another Twitter user, humorously encouraged Emily to embrace her exaggerated age, stating, “You should just say you’re 54 and relish the compliments.”

Emily joked back, “Haha. I contemplated this.”
At least Emily has a good sense of humor about the matter. Can you imagine Gina Kirschenheiter, who age shamed Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador and Vicki last season laughing if someone added 11 years to her age?
So, how did the confusion about Emily’s age come to be? Another tweet from Housewives Stan cleared up the whole matter by declaring, “It’s because there’s an actress called Emily Simpson that shows up with your picture on google. That’s where the 54 thing comes from.”
Emily replied, “That’s what I figured. Because I think it also says my husband’s name is Jerome. …and we all know that’s not true.” Of course, we all know Emily’s husband is Shane Simpson, or “the little b**ch” as non-Shane fan Kelly Dodd likes to call him.

Viewers know that age is relative in Orange County. Plastic surgery centers are as common as nail salons in upscale areas. When you are 55, you can look 40.
