Real Housewives of New York OG Bethenny Frankel has a thriving business and she’s using her platform to help with important causes. In contrast, RHONY alum Kelly Bensimon is still talking trash about Bethenny a decade later.
Longtime fans will never forget when Kelly told Bethenny “I’m up here and you’re down here.” That seems like it would be a moment that she regrets at this point. However, that’s not the case. She fully stands by that comment and she’s doubling down on it. She’s also claiming that she legitimized RHONY, which is far from true.
Kelly appeared on a recent episode of Brandi Glanville’s podcast Brandi Glanville Unfiltered. She shared her version of what went down when she joined the show. The jelly bean enthusiast claimed, “The executive producer was like ‘We this show that we are having some problems with. We need to legitimize the brand. Can you come on for a couple weeks?'” Sure, Kelly.
She claimed, “I didn’t know what Housewives was.” That is easy to believe since Kelly is, well, Kelly. She recalled, “I was like ‘OK, sure.'”

Brandi told Kelly, “You had it rough. I was watching back then and they really came after you.” As if Kelly was just so innocent. Kelly told Brandi, “I had no idea who anybody was. I actually felt bad because I was like ‘if you guys just gave me your bios, I probably could have been just a little bit protected.'” She couldn’t have done a Google search? Or at least made some effort to get to know the women?
In regard to that “I’m up here and you’re down here” comment, Kelly maintains that she has no regrets. She told Brandi “No, no, no. I meant it. I meant everything.” Wow.

She recalled, “I have two kids that are five and seven who are in a car right now. They’re waiting for me to take them to the Hamptons. It’s a hurricane season. I know these sound like champagne problems, but my driver, who had been driving us for seven years, had cancer and was literally on death’s bed. And [Bethenny] was like procrastinating and procrastinating because she had nothing else to do. She’s like picking her nose all day. So I was like ‘I really have to film this and then I have to leave.'”
Kelly continued, “So, I want in there and she was just being bratty and I was like ‘I’m an adult. I’m gonna deal with this as an adult situation and you’re a child. I’m up here and you’re down there.’ And then I met up with my foxy friend Max, had a drink with him, and then headed to the Hamptons.” So what about her kids in the car with her driver? She made them wait even longer so she could get a drink with her “foxy friend”? That makes sense…
