Heather Thomson’s random inclusion in the Real Housewives of New York cast getaway to Ramona Singer’s Hamptons house seemingly served the sole purpose of whipping Leah McSweeney up into a frenzy. I’d venture a guess that producers were hoping the fallout from Heather’s podcast would cause more of a reaction from Luann de Lesseps or Sonja Morgan. But the Breakfast at Tiffany’s dinner was rather tame by RHONY standards. Ramona and Leah had a heated argument about proper decorum at the table, but that’s standard.
No, the big payoff for shoving Heather into this mess was her fight with Leah in the van. They were going tit-for-tat the whole time, but it all came to a head when Eboni K. Williams told Leah about a conversation she had with Heather. A little bit of misinformation, and the stress Leah was feeling about her grandmother led to an altercation on the way to Pageant night. And ironically, the whole thing could have been avoided had Eboni not thrown in the word “irresponsible.”
Real Housewives of New York has turned into another Real Housewives of Messy Town and it’s becoming all too common lately. Allow me to be completely transparent and say I have no dog in this fight. Both of the people involved usually run their mouths incessantly and saying anything even remotely worthwhile is a rare occurrence. Heather Thompson came back for a few brief appearances on RHONY and to say Leah McSweeney was locked and loaded would be pretty accurate.
Leah was already mad, but the anger is being blamed on her grandmother’s poor health. Before Heather showed up, Leah started lighting matches by pouring over the internet in search of articles containing Heather’s smack-talking. After dinner table dramatics, communications broke down because Leah likes to impress people with her wokeness but Heather clearly knows the Black experience because she has photos with Puff Daddy. So deciding who is more to blame for acting like an idiot is difficult for viewers. According to Heather, if Leah had just stayed home with her ill grandma, all of the drama could have been avoided.
The Bravo gods have answered our (my) prayers — Heather Dubrow is returning to the Real Housewives of Orange County. The news of Fancy Pant’s long-awaited return comes along with some arguably even better news — Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke are OUT for good. No more Kelly Fraud’s nasty comments and total ignorance. Or Braunwyn’s over-the-top narcissism. Both ladies were eyeing for a return, but the fans have spoken. And Boringwin really uprooted her entire life as she knew it for a TV show that doesn’t want her back. What a shame. Oh, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas is out after one season, but we hardly got to know her anyway.
The Fancy Pants news is just too much to bear. We’ll finally see the completed Dubrow family mansion. Terry Dubrow, despite duping fans about Heather’s return, will be back on our screens to provide plastic surgery advice and corny dad jokes. And this could lead to a potential Tamra Judge return, but no news has been announced yet. CHAMPS FOR EVERYONE, except maybe Shannon Beador.
The fate of the Real Housewives of Orange County has finally been revealed, following the total flop of a recent years. The controversial Kelly Dodd was on another level last year, causing some fans to boycott the season. But she wasn’t the only cause for disarray — looking at you, Braunwyn Windham-Burke. Now, they’re both gone along with Elizabeth Lyn Vargas.
While Kelly herself half expected to get cut after last year. Most recently, the always outspoken Kelly teased a potential return, but the Bravo gods did not rule in her favor.
Leah McSweeney reached her breaking point on last week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York. Her grandmother’s declining health is taking a grand toll on her. It’s causing Leah to lash out at everything and everyone in her path. Heather Thomson picked the wrong time to be shady and stir the pot. It’s clear Heather is purposely trying to illicit a reaction from Leah. However, Leah’s barrage of rage was disproportionate to Heather’s actions.
Everyone has an opinion about Leah & Heather. Everyone wants to take a side. However, which of these Queen Bee’s is actually going to come out on top? Heather might not be sticking around beyond this weekend, but does that make Leah the victor? How do you define a winner in a nasty feud like this? It’s clear these women have a deep disdain for one another already. It all comes down to this episode. Holla!
After a year in a pandemic, a United States election, and a massive boost to the Black Lives Matter movement, reality TV is looking a little differently these days. True Bravo fans will remember the 2016 Real Housewives of Atlanta episodes where Phaedra Parks and some of the other wives attended Black Lives Matter events. Four years later, these other franchises are still playing catch up. That includes the iconic Real Housewives of New York who finally welcomed their first Black cast member after eleven seasons! Welcome to a more accurate reality on your reality TV screen!
For boasting a life of worldliness and civility, Luann de Lesseps sure does seem lost. Though, who can forget that dreadful Diana Ross costume she tried to pass off just a few seasons ago? Shockingly, Sonja Morgan is coming through in a way I don’t think anyone predicted. Sonja was both eloquent and accurate when taking up for the movement and newest Housewife, Eboni K. Williams in last weeks’ episode.
Last season of the Real Housewives of New York, the great divide between viewers was the nasty feud between Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer. There were arguments for both sides, with most people agreeing that Dorinda took it to the lowest level and she needed a break from the show. And this season, the feud between Leah McSweeney and Heather Thomson is causing yet another rift amongst fans.
Heather claims Leah bullied her off the show early, referring to her as the “Queen B” which we all can agree is a title that belongs to Sonja Morgan. Leah was coming from a place of defending her co-stars since Holla Heather has made some nasty remarks on her podcast about her former castmates. Unfortunately, Leah isn’t exactly known for her delivery. And that’s even more so this year due to all of the personal issues she dealt with while filming.
And RHONY newbie Eboni K. Williams has gotten herself in the middle of the feud. It all started when Luann de Lesseps called Eboni “angry” in an argument about education. Lu’s ego got the best of her, but Eboni wasn’t backing down. Since Mama Heather considers herself to be embedded in “black culture” aka she worked for major hip-hop stars back in the day, she tried to whitesplain to Eboni and Leah and it was cringe-worthy.
I feel for Eboni. She has a lot on her shoulders being the first Black cast member and attempting to make these women, particularly Ramona Singer, understand microaggressions and white privilege. I’d take a break from social media too if people were saying half of the nasty remarks Eboni is receiving for advocating for herself. And she’s trying to defend her friend Leah who brought her on the show, which definitely isn’t an easy position to defend.
