As both the Real Housewives of New York and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills seasons are winding down, it is time to start thinking about the reunions. Some of us look forward to the Housewife reunions as we hope to get all of our burning questions answered. Others know that the answers the ladies give are often phony, evasive, self-serving or disingenuous. Of course, that doesn’t stop us from watching–or having opinions!
Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen is forced to be a jack-of-all trades to get the ladies to confess to their social crimes, apologize to their wronged co-stars and make up by the end of the reunion. Which, any way you look at it, is a Herculean task. You have to wonder how he does it. Reunion after reunion. Andy recently shared which of the reunions have been the most difficult for him to manage–it must have been hard to pick just a few!
Unlike some of the other Real Housewives shows with constantly changing casts, Real Housewives of New York usually retains its stars. Or at least it does longer than most reality TV shows.
Nevertheless, the right addition could really be a good thing for the show. For instance, Sonja Morgan and Dorinda Medley joined the show later on and completely changed the landscape when they did. Even though RHONY Season 11 is still airing, there is already gossip about the cast for next year. No, they aren’t bringing back any alums. Sorry, Jill Zarin. However, there is a familiar (last) name in the mix: Scaramucci. Former Trump staffer and Celebrity Big Brother cast member Anthony Scaramucci’s wife Deidre Scaramucci is interested in joining the show.
In addition to being the patriarch, godfather, and ultimate supreme ruler of all things Real Housewives, Andy Cohen is a new dad and the host of Bravo’s late night talk show, Watch What Happens Live. As the first openly gay American late night talk show host, Andy has long been an eloquent and gracious advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
New York City is currently hosting WorldPride, the world’s largest Pride event, spanning the entire month of June. The Bravo network is known for its support of the LGBTQ+ community. So it is no surprise that Bravo and Andy have a float in the parade this year.
*sigh* So many thoughts about last night’s episode of Real Housewives Of New York. SO. MANY. THOUGHTS. And even more questions!
Does Luann de Lesseps deserve the wrath of hungover Housewives? Does air conditioner make Sonja Morgan poof or poop? Does Bethenny Frankel see Luann as her human sounding board – the one person resilient enough to take all the tantrums Bethenny’s mother ignored as she headed out to the clubs or on a date; giving Bethenny free-reign to project all of her childhood emotions.
Also, it occurs to me, that Bethenny probably married her mother and her father in Jason Hoppy, who seems diabolical, but also really disinterested in her melodrama, and Bethenny needs someone to give validity to her hysteria or else she thinks they don’t ‘hear’ her.
The Real Housewives of New York’s Tinsley Mortimer is one of the few Housewives who doesn’t purposely create drama with the other ladies. Sure, Tinsley participates in a little pot stirring when induced by her co-stars, but the drama she creates is usually centered around her own life. Tinsley must not have watched previous episodes before joining the cast three seasons ago–the other women are meant to be the targets-not yourself, Tinsley! Haven’t Ramona Singer or Bethenny Frankel taught you anything?
Tinsley’s self-inflicted drama is usually about her personal life. She has been very open about her desire to start a family, believing her biological time clock is on high alert due to her age. Tinsley is also famous for breaking up and making up with on-again, off-again boyfriend Scott Kluth. Her castmates and advice happy mother Dale Mercer have all told her to move on from Scott and it looks like Tinsley might finally be listening.
The Real Housewives of New York’s Barbara Kavovit has been prominently featured in her Housewife Friend role this season. She has been invited on all the cast trips, including the recent crazy vacation to Miami. Barbara’s Hamptons home even played a prominent role during earlier episodes when she hosted a drama filled clambake. The drama, however, wasn’t really clam-baked by Barbara herself.
The other ladies were stirring the clam pot. Barbara was mostly along for the ride. Sure, her support of Luann de Lesseps and her hesitancy to invite Dorinda Medley to the event fueled the tasty clam drama, but Barbara mostly stood back and watched while the real drama experts flung rotten shellfish at each other. Of course, like many other Housewives, some of Barbara’s most interesting drama takes place off camera. Which is the case with some unfortunate recent legal proceedings regarding her gorgeous Hamptons home.
For someone who drank as much as Sonja Morgan did a couple of weeks ago on Real Housewives of New York she looked halfway decent the morning after.
But as we all have seen in past seasons, this is not Lady Morgan’s first foray into a black-out drunken night with friends.
There’s an illness and it’s spreading. It seems several former Housewives are plagued with, “Pretty Please Notice Me!?!” We’ve seen the symptoms in Kelly Bensimon, from Real Housewives of New York. Jill Zarin may also need to seek treatment. Then there is poor, long-term sufferer, Brandi Glanville. Our Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
We’ve recently seen Brandi pop up on an episode where she shared good times with Denise Richards. I’m still trying to root for you, Denise! But Brandi’s motives are clear. She wants us to know she is great pals with newbie Denise. #cheersbitch Now we know there is a vacancy on the show. A big gap needs to be filled. So is Brandi shooting her shot while shooting her mouth off, again? Now she is revealing the “truth” about her
failures bad luck. I’ll give you one guess on who Brandi blames for her downfall…
