Why Casting Tom Sandoval in Vanderpump Rules Season 11 May Drive Viewers Away

Most Vanderpump Rules fans are sick to death of talking about Scandoval. It not only gives more attention to the villain, Tom Sandoval, but the well of drama has dried up. Tom was one part of the affair that also included Rachel Leviss. The two decided to sneak around behind Ariana Madix’s back for months, only for their relationship to implode and be caught on film.

Since March, Tom hasn’t really been trying to redeem himself and has gone on living a pretty normal life compared to Rachel, who hid away for months and then took part in an explosive interview. The co-owner of TomTom has worn viewers down, and with Season 11 just around the corner, it may have been a bad idea to cast the adulterer.

It’s a hard pill to swallow knowing that Tom has been welcomed back to Vanderpump Rules Season 11 with open arms after Rachel revealed that he had recorded her masturbating without her consent. While speaking to Bethenny Frankel, viewers were shocked to hear Rachel accuse Tom of a pretty heinous act. She said she felt “Betrayed. I felt like I couldn’t trust this person. I felt like my privacy didn’t matter to him.” Rachel continued saying, “If he would have asked me for permission, I would have said no.” Rachel has yet to launch an official investigation, but the whole story is unsettling.

If Rachel’s allegations are true, Tom would have broken the law. The California Recording Law states, “California’s wiretapping law is a two-party consent law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication. Including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation.”

The law applies to “confidential communications, i.e., conversations in which one of the parties has an objectively reasonable expectation that no one is listening in or overhearing the conversation.” If Rachel ever decided to press charges, it could mean a big headache for the network. They could be subpoenaed for the unaired footage of Tom admitting to his former lover that he was wrong for recording her.

Also, while juicy, this isn’t the type of drama that should be aired on reality TV.

Ariana Won’t Film With Tom

If Vanderpump Rules viewers are looking for a conversation between Ariana and Tom, they are going to be sorely mistaken. It was reported that Ariana refused to be in a single solo scene with her former beau when filming resumed. And we can’t say we blame her—Tom gives everyone the ick.

Even though Ariana has agreed to film group scenes, it is doubtful that viewers will get to see much of a conversation between the former couple. After such a fallout during the Season 10 reunion, it feels like a letdown not to have a solo conversation.

Why even bring Tom back if Bravo knew there would be no chance in hell Ariana would talk to him? It seems like a waste of a big paycheck if you ask me. All we are going to be seeing is Tom fake crying, forcing one tear from his eye during multiple confessionals. I’ll pass on that, thanks.

Tom has learned NOTHING from the Scandoval saga, and I actually feel a bit nauseous even at the thought of having to watch him on the small screen. We all know why he is here: to hopefully give Vanderpump Rules one more season after it was supposed to end at Season 10. Instead, Tom is trying his best to host a redemption tour for himself, but he is not Jesus. Tom is going to do what he does best, and that is ignore reality and keep moving forward.

The cast filmed a trip to Lake Tahoe in June, where the lead singer was snapped wearing a t-shirt that read “I’m Fine.” First, no one asked whether or not he was fine, and second, no one cares because Scandoval has been beaten to death, and we, as followers, are exhausted.

Tom has also spread his wings and filmed Special Forces, hoping to be absolved from his sins. Again, Tom is going to the Nth degree when it comes to dramatics. At the end of the day, he cheated. Tom has cheated before and most likely will again. He didn’t murder anyone, so let’s move on and stop giving this guy the limelight.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK HAVING TOM ON SEASON 11 IS A GOOD IDEA?
