‘Mean’ Sai De Silva Under Fire From RHOC’s Emily Simpson

Sai De Silva hasn’t been earning too many fans, and Emily Simpson is the latest big name to call her out. Seeing the evolution of Real Housewives of New York Season 14 was fascinating. It was the first time Bravo had ever been so bold as to replace an entire cast. But it seemed the risk paid off. Getting six newbies all together presented the opportunity for fans to learn and make judgments every step of the way.

At first, Jessel Taank seemed loud and annoying, but fans grew to love her attitude and sense of humor. Meanwhile, Sai initially flew under the radar but then shocked almost everyone when she ended up as Season 14’s most prominent villain. When Jessel attempted to empathize with Sai over their family members’ cases of alcoholism, Sai wasn’t having it.

Jessel brought up her uncle’s struggles with alcohol abuse in response to Sai sharing her mother’s troubles with alcoholism. Sai’s reaction to Jessel’s attempts at friendship rubbed many viewers the wrong way. Among those viewers was Emily Simpson from Real Housewives of Orange County.

Emily Simpson feels Sai De Silva’s behavior wasn’t “justified”

On October 11, Emily appeared on the Two Ts In A Pod podcast to discuss all things Bravo. During her discussion, she commented on the Sai situation. She opined that Sai wasn’t “justified” in her treatment of Jessel. Moreover, Emily expressed she “felt badly for Jessel” during the lunch date when she attempted to apologize to Sai.

“I felt like Sai was trying to find any opportunity to jump on her and jump down her throat,” Emily said. She further criticized Sai for her repeatedly saying she didn’t want to go on the lunch date. “And then she kept saying, ‘I didn’t want to go to lunch with you anyway. I didn’t want to be there.’ And I don’t know. I just thought – I thought it was mean. You know, I did.”

It’s hard to say whether Sai De Silva has a single friend left in the RHONY cast. It would seem she burned her bridge with Jessel, and after all the drama with Ubah Hassan’s man, it’s hard to say if anyone would still have her back. Hopefully, all these questions and more will be answered at the reunion.

The Real Housewives of New York City reunion airs Part 1 on Sunday, October 22 at 9/8c on Bravo.
