Cheryl Burke ‘Wasn’t Invited’ To Dancing with the Stars Tribute for Len Goodman

Former Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Cheryl Burke is opening up about being snubbed. News of Len Goodman’s passing sent shockwaves down the entertainment industry. It all felt so sudden. Len passed shortly after he retired from Dancing with the Stars. In April, at age 78, Len died of cancer surrounded by his loving family.

As DWTS Season 32 was in the works, Alfonso Ribeiro teased that the show was planning a tribute to Len. On the most recent episode, he and Julianne Hough confirmed that next week’s episode would include a tribute featuring several former pros.

However, Cheryl Burke was not among the pros listed, despite her multiple wins and long tenure on the show. Things have been tense between Cheryl and the show for a while now. The retired pro has not shied away from criticism. Now, perhaps ABC has retaliated.

Why isn’t Cheryl Burke returning for Len’s Dancing with the Stars tribute?

Cheryl took to Threads to answer fans asking if she’d be at Len’s tribute. She wrote, “For those of you asking if I’ll be a part of Len Goodman’s tribute next week on DWTS, unfortunately, I wasn’t invited.” She added, “However, I’ll be there in spirit and can’t wait to cheer my former colleagues on! Sending love and light to everyone. [heart emoji, pray emoji] #riplen.”

Cheryl’s replies were filled with fans who were all together in disbelief at her exclusion. As one user wrote, “Wow that’s wrong if them to not include you I feel like you were a major part of the show and should have been able to be part of it even if not in person.” Multiple users tagged Dancing with the Stars’ page.

The exclusion does make a person wonder exactly what Cheryl did to have her ties from the show cut so bluntly. Of course, this is hardly the first time DWTS Season 32 has drawn criticism from fans. As one of Cheryl’s replies read: “The powers that be of that show really aren’t known for making good decisions.”

Dancing with the Stars continues Tuesday nights on ABC and Disney+.
