Vicki Gunvalson Gives Shannon Beador Update Following DUI Arrest: ‘So Proud’

Vicki Gunvalson of The Real Housewives of Orange County shared information regarding her castmate and friend Shannon Beador, following the latter’s DUI arrest.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap, Vicki mentioned Shannon’s legal issues, including being booked for two misdemeanors.

According to TMZ, a representative from the Newport Beach Police Department informed them that Shannon was booked for a hit-and-run and DUI alcohol on September 17.

Getting help and making amends

While doing the show, Vicki said that her RHOC co-star and friend was “doing good” and was “taking ownership of the incident.”

“Shannon is getting some help, treatment,” Vicki revealed.

During the interview, Vicki shared that she knew what happened before Shannon’s arrest. She said, “Shannon had been out with some friends, and she might have one too many.”

According to Vicki, Shannon had decided to drive back to the restaurant where she had dinner with friends that night because she thought she may have left her phone there. “She got in her car because she couldn’t call Uber to get her phone because she didn’t have her phone,” Vicki shared.

It’s no excuse, but it’s what happened. “It was a very unfortunate, quick, wrong decision,” Vicki admitted. “And she’s owning it. She’s going to take full responsibility.”

Vicki also shared that Shannon had already made restitution for the garden wall she hit during the accident. She drove her car onto a residential property in Newport Beach and caused some damage.

While sharing an update on her friend, Vicki also shared that she was honestly surprised about Shannon’s arrest and everything that happened.

“Shannon doesn’t and hasn’t driven drunk,” Vicki shared. “She doesn’t drink and drive. She is an Uber girl. And she spends a ton of money a month, but that night was such an unfortunate situation.”

But Vicki also shared she was proud of her friend for owning up to her mistakes. “I’m so proud of her. I’ve hugged her and loved on her and told her accidents happen. You take ownership of this. You get in front of it,” Vicki said. “And she’s doing all that. She’s totally saying, ‘I messed up.’ Give me what I need to do to make restitution, and I’ll do it.”
