Season 3 of Winter House is in full swing, and Episode 2 showed the housemates getting comfortable in their new space in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz arrived at the share house, and he brought a whole lot of baggage with him thanks to Scandoval.

Despite being listed as a full-time cast member, Amanda Batula is still absent from the show. She’s sick and suffering from norovirus. Kyle Cooke and his mullet are missing Amanda so badly that even seeing a jar of olives makes him think of her. He’s lost without his girl, but thankfully, there’s enough Loverboy in the pantry to keep him warm at night.

With (almost) everyone at the house, the roommates throw a pirate party, and that leads to some spicy interactions between the Bravolebrities. Here’s what went down on Winter House Season 3, Episode 2.

Winter House Episode 2: Here comes Schwartzy

In the Winter House premiere, we learned that this season was filmed just days after the Tom Sandoval cheating scandal took over the world. So, when Schwartz arrives at the Winter House, he’s relieved to get a break from the 24/7 onslaught of Scandoval.

We have to endure Schwartz complaining about how Sandoval’s screw-up has had a ripple effect on his life. “I’m a pariah. I have a scarlet letter. My business has been affected,” Schwartz lamented.

For the audience at home, we heard this sob story months ago on Vanderpump Rules, so it’s really nothing new. We get it. However, all of this information is new for the Winter House cast, so Kory Keefer and Kyle were there to hear Tom’s perspective on everything. They went to the backyard to snowboard and get the 411 on how everything played out with Tom’s cheating scandal. The bros were good listeners and helped Tom ease his way out of Scandoval and into Winter House mode. So, let’s hope this is the last we have to hear about the VPR drama spilling over into this show.

A new Katie and Tom

The last time Schwartz was on Winter House, he was freshly divorced from Katie Maloney. That wound was so fresh that he was afraid to even tell anyone about it. For Season 3 of Winter House, Schwartz admitted that he’s “open to love,” and it doesn’t take long for a natural spark to build between him and Below Deck Mediterranean alum Katie Flood.

In her joint confessional with fellow yachtie Malia White, Katie admitted that she didn’t even know who Schwartz was. They blamed it on the fact that they “live in a bubble,” but how do you not know the Toms? Do they not have the internet on superyachts? Do they not have Peacock subscriptions? Either way, Katie’s unfamiliarity with Schwartz is probably actually a good thing. She’s seeing him with a fresh set of eyes, untainted by his decade-long career on reality TV.

Katie and Tom went on a grocery run, just the two of them. It gave them plenty of quality time to get to know each other. It wasn’t a date, but they conquered all of those first date conversation starters. Later in the episode, Katie admitted to Malia that she’s into Tom. She said it’s his personality that’s leaving an impression on her. The writing is on the wall. A new Katie and Tom is on the horizon!

Flirting ain’t easy

With the exception of Kyle (and maybe Kory), the entire Winter House cast is single. They’re ready to mingle. Although Alex Propson and Brian Benni are eager to flirt with their fellow Bravolebs, Casey Craig and Jordan Emanuel are more interested in taking their business to the streets of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. So, the entire cast heads out to a local bar to set their sites on some of the locals. That’s easier said than done.

When given the chance to mingle with the locals, we quickly learn that Casey can’t flirt. Small talk just doesn’t come naturally to her. It’s very relatable, and we’re slowly learning more about this reality TV newbie. Alex is in the same boat when it comes to flirting, and that’s not a Below Deck pun. He explains that he was homeschooled, so his social skills are just kind of all over the place.

One person who does know how to flirt is Kory. He’s in a situationship with

Samantha Feher, so he’s not totally free to flirt with everyone in the house. Instead, he’s lending a helping hand to Brian and offering his wisdom. Brian says he’s interested in Casey but doesn’t want to scare her off like he scared off Jordan the first night. With Kory taking him under his wing, Brian might have some luck by the end of the vacation.

Partying like pirates

What would Winter House be without a themed party? Now that we have Below Deck crew as part of this cast, these parties are about to be on point. We need tablescapes, people!

The first themed party of Season 3 is a pirate party, and the housemates are geared up for a night of rowdy, rum-fueled fun. For some reason, Schwartz dressed up like a circus ringleader with thigh-high boots. It’s not necessarily giving pirate, but, you know, there are only so many pirate costumes available on Amazon.

The Bravolebs spent their pirate party playing games like shag, marry, kill, and asking questions like, “Who here would you want to kiss?” In his confessional, Tom said it felt like being in high school again, but in a good way. Not in a creepy way.

Thanks to the prompts in the party game, and the copious amounts of booze, the Bravolebs started getting a little zesty. Kyle kissed Tom just for funsies. Then, Danielle Olivera, Jordan, and Alex shared a three-way kiss. Things are heating up!

After the game, Alex and Danielle’s flirty energy continued, and they eventually headed out to the hot tub. In last week’s episode, Alex struck out with Jordan in the hot tub. But with Danielle, he finally got the hot tub makeout session he was so desperately craving. Not everyone is down to hook up with her roommates, but Danielle said she has no problem with it. Let’s see how long it takes before this gets messy.

Winter House continues on Bravo, Tuesday nights at 9/8c.
