Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore on RHOA Reboot Rumors

The Real Housewives of New York reboot was perhaps an even bigger success than Bravo could’ve imagined. At least, as far as the public knows. Shaking up the cast so drastically was unprecedented, but the risk paid off.

It was an open secret that Bravo decided to reboot RHONY in the wake of poor ratings. So, once it came out that Real Housewives of Atlanta wasn’t doing so hot either, rumors began circulating that Bravo was considering an all-new cast as well.

Andy Cohen also admitted at BravoCon 2023 that the show needed tweaking before Season 16. With the current RHOA cast likely biting their nails, Kenya Moore and Kandi Burrus got the chance to speak with Us Weekly during the convention.

Kenya admits RHOA needs “a shakeup”

Kandi spoke about the potential for an RHOA reboot. “Every time they [Bravo] decide they want to change people, it’s like, sometimes I’m sad when the people leave … and then sometimes, they’ll get somebody new and I’m like, ‘Okay,’” she said. “So I try to stay open-minded.” Kandi then admitted she would’ve been just fine staying with her original cast.

When asked if she felt everything was said and done at the last reunion, Kandi asked, “Closure?” facetiously. “That’s the thing about Housewives … it keeps going.” As for Kenya, she shared that last season was mostly “about showing my steps in my journey as a Housewife.” She admitted that she was a little unsatisfied with how much viewers got to see.

Regarding potential changes for the upcoming season, Kenya said, “I think there needs to be a shakeup. I don’t think it needs to be a total reboot, but I definitely think it needs to be a shakeup.” As for who she thought should return, Kenya admitted “Kandi makes great TV … I think some girls from the past would be great.”
