It seems the fashion police were out in full force at BravoCon 2023, and Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent found herself on the receiving end of a shady critique from none other than Mercedes “MJ” Javid of Shahs of Sunset.
The two have a lot in common: they’re both moms, they both love to stir the pot, and they both have complicated friendships on their respective shows. But apparently, they differ when it comes to serving lewks.
MJ roasted Lala’s BravoCon looks
On the November 8 episode of her podcast, Give Them Lala, Lala spilled the tea on her friend MJ’s unfiltered opinions about her ‘Con wardrobe choices. Lala was proudly sporting a Burberry ensemble from head to toe the first time she and MJ saw each other.
Lala laughed while recounting MJ’s first instance of shade. “She goes, ‘This is what we chose for the day?’ I was like, ‘What the f*ck do you mean?’ She goes, ‘I mean it’s fine. Tomorrow I’m sure you’ll do better.’ And I was like, ‘Yo, you’re a f*cking bitch.’”
Lala, however, revealed that the shade didn’t sting too much, especially since MJ gave a thumbs up to her athletic-inspired look on the final day of BravoCon.
“MJ rolls up on me and goes, ‘By the way … this was your only good look.’ She goes, ‘I’m your friend. Everyone else lies to you. I did call her a ‘See You Next Tuesday’. But in a loving way.”
We all know Lala has no lack of confidence, which she said worked to her benefit in this smorgasbord of shade and might’ve broken Bravolebs of lesser self-assurance.
“This is why I have a giant head because if I didn’t, things like what she said would put me in the grave. I would be sobbing. ‘You’re telling me that this is the only day I look good and I’ve seen thousands of people? Great!’”
Well, isn’t MJ the supportive pal we all need though? Shahs of Sunset is sadly no longer, but fans of the show know exactly where MJ inherited that scathing delivery from: her ruthlessly honest mom, Vida Javid!
