Mauricio Umansky’s Fraud Allegations Dismissed in $32 Million Mansion Sale

Mauricio Umansky of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills might be a loser when it comes to Dancing With The Stars, and, potentially his marriage to his estranged wife, Kyle Richards. However, it looks like he quickstepped his way to a win when it comes to the years-long lawsuit he’s been embroiled in.

A judge just dismissed fraud allegations against real estate mogul Mauricio after he purchased a $32 million Malibu mansion and then flipped it for a hefty profit back in 2017. Mo will be sleeping easier tonight.

Radar Online has all of the details.

Mauricio can breathe easier now the fraud allegations are behind him

Mauricio recently released his book The Dealmaker, although he probably wishes he’d passed on this one.

Developer Sam Hakim asked the LA Superior Court to dismiss the whole multi-million dollar mess. He accused Mauricio of some shady business in the purchase of a mansion linked to Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, son of the president of Equatorial Guinea.

But, there was a twist. Mauricio was initially hired by the U.S. Department of Justice to sell the place, then ended up buying it himself with his buddy Mauricio Oberfeld. After a year, they sold it for a whopping $70 million – netting $37 million in profit. That’s a lot of Mauricios and a lot of money!

The lawsuit started in 2019. It got pretty heated as both sides played hardball, supposedly hiding or struggling to find text messages that could make or break their cases. The judge even had to lay down the law, ordering them to cough up the evidence by mid-December.

It seems the threat of court-ordered sanctions prompted Hakim to throw in the towel. Mauricio Oberfeld made it clear through his attorney Jeremiah T. Reynolds that they didn’t shell out a dime to Sam Hakim to make the case go away.

In fact, Sam dropped the suit under the looming threat of sanctions for failing to produce those crucial text messages. The judge’s filed the ruling “with prejudice,” meaning the suit can’t be re-filed.

Reynolds stated it’s a shame innocent folks like his clients have their reputations dragged through the mud for years without consequences.

For Mo, it’s a legal dance he won this time around. Now, maybe he’ll have more time and bandwidth to keep up with Kyle’s tattoo count!
