Sister Wives Season 18 was intense, and the main storyline centered around Janelle Brown deciding to leave Kody Brown behind after almost three decades of marriage. Even though the Tell All is no longer done as a collective group, each TLC star now has their own moment on the couch where they get to share their side of the story. This season’s reunion had a few bombshells, so let’s take a look at some of the biggest revelations.
Kody Believes the Women Trash Talk
Evidently, the root cause of Janelle and Kody’s big blowout fight that was caught by TLC cameras was caused by Janelle taking Christine Brown‘s side. The father of 18 let his conspiracy theory side show as he speculated about what his wives had to say when he wasn’t around. “I think they’re trash-talking me,” he said. “If I’m small, it makes them feel OK for how they treated me.” As viewers are well aware, Kody loves to pretend he is the victim.
Kody Is Jealous of Christine and Janelle’s Bond
During part one of the Sister Wives Tell All, Kody begrudgingly revealed that he felt Christine and Janelle’s friendship was a big “f*ck you” to him. Kody didn’t mince his words as he shared, “I’m jealous because they’re behaving the way they should have for 25 years now. I see it as a big f*ck you to Kody. It’s like we’re going to get along now because this will really piss Kody off.”
Kody’s reaction isn’t really all that surprising, but it hasn’t gone unnoticed that he often pitted his four wives against one another in a duel for his affection.
Kody Wishes He Had ‘Vetted’ His Spouses
Not surprisingly, Kody came to the realization that he would have done things a bit differently when he first started to court each of his four wives. Kody took it upon himself to tell host Sukanya Krishnan that “divorce messes with you.” Season 18 showed Kody unraveling at the emotional seams as he tried to figure out what exactly went wrong. Kody then admitted what everyone knew that he was only ever “in love” with his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.
According to Kody, he was “so anxious to be living the principle of plural marriage. I wasn’t vetting who I was marrying to be compatible with me. The blame lies on one thing and one thing only. If you’re going to marry and you’re going to marry for eternity, you should start out in love.”
It is laughable how Kody still hasn’t accepted any blame for the demise of his unions. According to Kody, he thought he “could make up the difference. I thought everything in this situation with all three wives; this isn’t about being, like, in love.”
Robyn Thinks Kody Rewrites History
One thing of note that stood out was how Robyn reacted to Kody when he admitted to crying tears of joy after meeting her. The patriarch told the host, “I met Robyn, and there was a safety and a vulnerability that I had never experienced in my life. And I met her, and I started weeping for joy and didn’t stop for months.”
Not sure how that turned Robyn on, but everyone has their fetish, I guess. The mother of five seemed to disagree with her husband’s take. “I did not know that until just recently,” Robyn said. “I wonder if it’s just the rewriting of history because there seems to be a lot of that.”
Janelle and Kody Had a Hot Sex Life
If ever there was a time for the Brown family to keep the details to themselves, this might be it. Janelle decided to open up about her intimate time behind doors with Kody, and it was eye-opening. During Season 18, Kody revealed that he felt Janelle only liked him for his body. Wow. Just wow, Kody. During the Tell All, Janelle shared that their physical connection was never an issue; rather, it was their lack of an emotional connection that stalled their love affair.
Kody Faked His Love for Meri
Perhaps one of the most hurtful bombshells was when Kody shared that he had to “choose” to love Meri Brown. As everyone is well aware, the union lasted way longer than it should have. Sadly, it seems he was never in love with his first wife. At least now Meri is finally moving on.
