Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley knows a little something about trauma. She and her family have been victims of home break-ins and Dorit has also endured a robbery while out shopping.
While it might seem like crime follows Dorit, she is suffering from PTSD as a result of being present during one of the crimes. Her husband PK Kemsley was across the pond and Dorit was left to pick up the pieces until his return. Now she says her “passes” and “patience” for PK have flown out the window.
Dorit needs PK around but PK needs to work
If you didn’t also know, PK and Dorit are in quite a bit of debt. They currently owe $986,887 and $90,269 to the IRS, respectively. While many viewers believe Dorit and PK should tackle their money issues, Dorit prefers to discuss her anxiety instead of her financial woes.
On this week’s episode, Dorito and PK had a therapist come over and she opened up about her feelings. “My biggest issue was that after the home invasion, I really needed PK around,” Dorit began.
She continued, ”And he was traveling all the time [after the 2021 home invasion]. He wasn’t here for me, not physically, and not emotionally, really. The passes, the patience — those are now used up. It’s time for him to show up.”
Ma’am, with all due respect, it’s time for PK to show up at the bank and pay the bills. Then Dorit explained she doesn’t think PK fully gets the “severity” of what she’s going through.
What PK understands about PTSD (spoiler alert, it’s nothing)
It might have been the wrong place, but Dorit attempted to talk to PK at their anniversary party. He said, “Does PTSD require you to discuss it there?” He finally admitted there are “elements I understand” and “elements that I don’t consider are PTSD.”
“I consider they’re more obnoxious,” PK shared. He also thinks Dorit is more “high maintenance.” What Dorit wants is to be comforted when she has “episodes.”
Finally, PK seemed to start getting it. Allegedly. “You’ve also got to try and articulate it just a little bit calmer and a little bit less irritated by it,” PK replied. “Do you understand? Because I’m not seeking to irritate you. I’m seeking to understand you. It makes me emotional because you know I’m okay with it.”
Until PK can come around to be more receptive to Dorit’s needs, she doesn’t know “what the future holds.”
