Monica Garcia Finds Reality Von Tease Reaction ‘Comical’

Monica Garcia’s performance was lacking during the final part of the Season 4 Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion. Her Burn Book stunt fizzled out. When it came to discussing her involvement with the Reality Von Tease snark account, Monica didn’t accept responsibility. Host Andy Cohen even noted that Monica seemed surprised at how upset her co-stars were. Heather Gay held Monica’s feet to the fire along with Lisa Barlow.

Since none of her co-stars would agree to film with her, Monica had no path forward. But she also didn’t try very hard to forge one. So, after delivering one jaw-dropping season, Monica exited the show. Afterward, Heather noted that the core cast was stronger since surviving Hurricane Monica. “There’s nothing like a common enemy to bring you together,” she said. The RHOSLC showrunner, Lori Gordon, noted that the ladies “need a cooling-off period.” So there is a chance that Monica could be taking a pause.

Monica’s co-stars were traumatized by the trolling

So, why would Monica join the cast if she knew the truth would be revealed? “I truly did not think it was going to be a big deal, genuinely. This was a bigger deal than Jen [Shah] getting arrested and going to prison,” Monica told The Cut. “It’s comical, in a sense, that they are more upset at me about a snark page than they are about someone scamming elderly people out of millions of dollars.” Well, that is a fair point. But none of the Salt Lake City cast members ever gave the impression that they condoned Jen’s crimes.

Monica continued, “This was someone who they chose to stand by, but this is the be-all and end-all. I was prepared for it to come out and I was prepared to own it because the page was never about them. It was about Jen!”

“They want to say, ‘It bullied us for four years’ — first of all, the page was only open for, like, a year. Second of all, it really was about exposing Jen. Lisa Barlow’s hot-mic rant was worse than anything we ever said on Von Tease,” Monica stated. Another point for Monica!

I’m hoping that someday, Monica will be part of the icy RHOSLC cast again. And I’m crossing my fingers that Season 5 turns out not to be a disappointment after the avalanche of chaos this season.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is now streaming on Peacock.
