Dorit Kemsley may have had fans on her side at the start of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13, but her latest beef with Crystal Kung Minkoff has just brought public opinion even lower. Indeed, Dorit’s been making all the wrong moves lately, like siding with Annemarie Wiley of all people.
When Annemarie said Crystal told her the group was uneducated and shallow, Dorit believed her right away. Granted, Crystal did indeed call her castmates uneducated in a 2020 confessional. Pretty shady, for sure, but Dorit took things from 10 to 100 by then calling Crystal a “child bride.”
Crystal was 24 when she got married, far from a child bride. In all likelihood, Dorit’s real issue was with the age difference (Crystal’s husband being 45 at the time of their marriage). But Dorit was hardly in a place to comment on someone else’s marriage, and Crystal didn’t shy away from saying so.
Crystal’s followers slam Dorit’s “child bride” comment as a “microaggression”
On January 24, Crystal posted a photo from her wedding writing in her caption, “Keys to a successful marriage: – Set aside quality time together – Express love and appreciation – Manage conflict constructively – Buy, don’t borrow diamond necklaces for your wife.” Commenters voiced their praises loudly for Crystal.
One commenter added a point to Crystal’s list: “Don’t acquire massive amounts of debt,” to which Crystal responded, “NUMBER ONE.” Sutton Stracke popped in to share a couple of heart emojis. Fans of Dorit would be hard-pressed to find any comment in her defense. Speaking of which, multiple comments pointed out the racial implications in Dorit’s “child bride” insult.
As one IG user wrote, “As a ‘student of the world,’ there’s no way Dorit wasn’t aware of how blatantly microaggressive her comment was.” Another commented, “Dorit needs some serious racial sensitivity training. SMH.” Dorit may have started the season strong, but at this point, she’s digging herself a deeper and deeper hole. Perhaps she is a “Karen” after all.
