Monica Garcia on Her ‘Cooling-Off’ Period From RHOSLC: ‘Don’t Know What That Means’

It’s only February, but Monica Garcia’s time as a housewife is like the March saying: in like a lion, out like a lamb. The single mother of four burst onto Real Housewives of Salt Lake City butting heads with all of her castmates and not being shy about it.

But after the bombshell that she was secretly (?) behind the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease, Monica found herself put on ice. Immediately following the RHOSLC Season 4 reunion, it was announced that Monica was exiting the show after only one season.

Cooling down or iced out?

During a recent appearance on the Sirius XM’s podcast Reality Checked, Monica shared her feelings about it with host Dorinda Medley. “I don’t know what that means. If I were to look at it logically, right, I would just think, you know, the other women need time to cool down. I need time to cool down. Production needs time to cool down.”

Monica noted that what went down on the show “affected more than just me” and “more than just the women.” Now that is an understatement.

She added, “I mean, everything coming out with [Heather Gay’s] black eye even was probably re-triggering for production as well. I think everyone just needs a breather maybe is what that means.”

Monica can’t take the heat

Executive Producer and Bravo Daddy Andy Cohen called Monica’s exit “a break.” But, he never said one way or another if this “break” was Monica’s choice. Fans aren’t stupid though. Why would Monica leave the gravy train of Real Housewives when it’s at full speed?

Regardless, Monica admitted during the interview that she was “not prepared” for the heat the reunion would bring her way. “I think that people also don’t understand just the pressure of walking in that room and knowing all eyes are on you. I mean, Angie [Katsanevas] said it, nobody wants you here. I had to walk into that situation knowing it was going to be a bloodbath.”

Despite the hostility from her castmates, at least Monica had one person in her corner. She concluded, “I will say I am so grateful that I was next to Andy because at the end of the day, that was the only person I did have on my side. That’s how I felt.”
