Kyle Richards on ‘Strange’ but ‘Working’ Marriage Limbo

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s separation is an ongoing and dynamic matter. As the two Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars are navigating the waters of their marriage, RHOBH fans are interested to find out what’s next.

Kyle recently spoke about the next phase of her split from her estranged husband of 28 years. They still live in the same house and co-parent their four daughters. But Kyle also admitted to an arrangement with Mauricio in which both parties are free to date other people.

Recent comments from the RHOBH OG indicate that the situation is a work in progress.

Kyle’s marriage could go one of two ways

During the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, Kyle told People that she and Mauricio continue to communicate about their situation.

“…We’re just trying to figure it out. So right now, it’s not on pause,” the actress revealed. “We’re actively navigating through this and working through it.”

The couple are not on a timeline to conclude their issues, but Kyle anticipates that there will be some resolution soon.

“We’re not going to be in this situation forever, whichever way that goes,” the Bravolebrity explained. “Time will tell, probably sooner than later, but we’re hanging in there. The good thing is we get along well, and we were at an event last night together with the family. And I don’t know, it’s been working for us. It’s kind of strange, but hey, like I said, we’re family no matter what.”

Kyle then referred to the upcoming Beverly Hills Season 13 finale, during which Mauricio broke the news of their separation to their children. For Kyle, it was too much to relive.

“I didn’t [and won’t] watch [the finale] because I didn’t want to watch that scene with my children and my husband,” Kyle revealed. She continued: “I actually have no idea how that turned out, and I don’t think I want to know. I was there, and I don’t need to feel that again. So it’s really hard. It’s hard.”

“It’s certainly not easy watching it all back and having to relive it all again,” she continued. “I’m just sort of waiting for it to be over, to be honest. I feel like I’ve gotten through, like, the hardest parts, but then I have a little break … and then more difficult stuff comes up.”
