Traitors Host Alan Cumming on Which Aspects of Phaedra Parks’ Gameplay He Enjoyed

After Season 1 of The Traitors, fans knew the second season of Peacock’s smash-hit show would be another success. Plus, with cast members like CT TamburelloLarsa Pippen, and the show’s titular Traitors, Dan GheeslingParvati Shallow, and Phaedra Parks involved, there’s no way this show wouldn’t be a hit.

One of the most beloved parts of the series has to be the intense roundtable discussions. Although we’ve seen many Faithfuls and a few Traitors leave the castle for good, there’s still one secret murderer left standing: Phaedra. She’s flawlessly fielded attacks from veteran strategists like Trishelle Canatella, Dan, and Parvati, shredding them in the process.

Perhaps they forgot she’s more than just a Real Housewives star? In addition to the list of television programs on her resume, including Ultimate Girls Trip and Married to Medicine, the mother of two also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia, making her quite the challenger when it comes to verbal sparring. Still, she’s only unleashed that side of her a few times. So, how have others, specifically host Alan Cumming, perceived her gameplay? Read on to find out.

Here’s what surprised Alan most about Phaedra’s strategy on The Traitors

In a recent chat with People, Alan chatted about all things Season 2, including Phaedra’s potential romance with The Challenge legend CT and her strategy as a game player. As he continued, he shared that the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum’s “passive” approach surprised him before saying it’s “a very good tactic actually in a game like this.”

“She never really risks a judgment about anything,” Alan continued. “And as a lawyer, you have to be very authoritative but non-partisan. So, I was kind of surprised.”

Even though we haven’t seen Phaedra leading many of the Traitors’ choices in the turret, she has been vocal about her loyalty to the other Bravo girls, including Shereé WhitfieldMJ Javid, and Kate Chastain. “The only thing she was really kind of firm about was her loyalty to the Housewives,” he revealed. “There was a very tribal aspect to her housewife stuff, which I kind of enjoyed as well.”

The latest episode ended with Phaedra recruiting Kate as a Traitor; however, we’ll have to wait until Thursday’s showing to see whether or not she accepts. “As soon as you think, ‘Oh, that’s happened,’ then something else happens, and it’s just so fascinating,” Alan explained. “And people just disappear in the night.”

Stream new episodes of The Traitors on Thursdays at 9/8c only on Peacock.
