Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 9, Episode 12. Last week, the group’s first annual Snoozefest party was anything but a snooze. The crew shifted from Team Jesse to Team Lexi once she told her side of the story. And Lexi wasn’t done talking just yet. She took Jesse to school when she confronted him about all his yellow flags for her. However, instead of taking ownership, Jesse blamed his friends for talking about it. Meanwhile, Carl dreamt of a potential future with Ciara. But would Ciara feel the same? Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 9, Episode 12: “Pillow Fight.”

There were some big changes afoot for the group this week. Kyle realized that he wasn’t getting any younger and wanted to start a family. The only problem was that Amanda didn’t share his same vision. Carl gathered up the courage to tell Ciara his feelings for her. She was touched but made it clear that dating housemates was a no-go. And finally, Lexi and Jesse continued their showdown of who was the worst flirt, which ended in both declaring they might be dunzo. However, neither pulled the trigger just yet.

Snoozefest was still going strong despite it being a party about sleeping. And Carl was wide awake. It was now or never to tell Ciara he liked her. Carl told her, “You’re f*cking beautiful. You’re an incredible person. I feel like I should just let you know … I kind of have a crush on you.”

Ciara’s eyes popped out of her head as he continued to gush about her. He added, “I’ve always felt like I don’t have any shot in hell.” And he was right. Ciara was flattered but did not want to date anyone in the house. Especially someone who was just engaged to Lindsay. She was on her good side and wanted to keep it that way.

Still, Ciara didn’t close the door completely. She told him, “What’s meant to be will be.” Carl smiled. So, you’re telling me there’s a chance!

Jesse wandered over to Paige, Amanda, and Lindsay for some sympathy, to which he got none. He was miffed about them talking to Lexi. He said, “I feel like my friends are taking the worst of anything that I say and saying that directly to Lexi.”

Paige countered, “You can’t come vent to us and then be like, ‘I don’t want any of you involved.’ So, like, if you say it, it’s a thing.” Jesse denied any wrongdoing, which was promptly shut down with a montage of him all over Ciara. Lindsay reminded Jesse he told Ciara that things could have been different between them if he had arrived on time instead of West.

When Jesse stated he only said that to make Ciara feel better, that activated Ciara. She said, “You’re a f*cking weirdo for that statement, dude. F*ck you, actually.” Paige warned, “You stepped in it now!”

Shortly after, Ciara spilled the tea to Paige and Amanda that Carl admitted he had a crush on her. Amanda deduced that Carl was confusing her kindness with something more. Also, Ciara’s a ten out of ten, so who could blame him?

They all agreed Jesse’s attempt to make Ciara “feel better” was just an excuse for his bad behavior. Paige noted, “I don’t need someone to make me feel better about a guy over there holding a candle.” Cut to West in his pajamas, awkwardly trying to get guests to touch the flame. Amanda added, “Jesse’s embarrassed that he shared his real feelings, and that’s the only out he had.”

Vanderpump Rules alum Tom Schwartz was still chatting with Kyle about wanting to be a father. Tom admitted, “I’m very fulfilled. But there’s a void in my life, and that’s not having kids.” Kyle agreed. He said, “I’m 42; I would never have thought I would not have kids by now.” Tom joked that when their kids were 20, they would be in their 60s and in bed by 6:30 pm. Kyle stated, “Nooo, never!” Someone’s gotta stay up late to DJ their kids’ parties.

Not only was Ciara upset with Jesse, but Lexi was too. She told Lindsay and Gabby, “It’s just such, like, a sh*tty situation. Because all summer he’s been painting me as one thing that’s just, like, not true … I feel like it has made everyone a little more hesitant to support me and be my friend because he’s making me look psycho.”

Jesse felt better once he hopped into the bro cuddle puddle to watch Zootopia. Interesting choice. He was going to need all the cuddles he could get to handle what was to come.

The next morning, Tom made his rounds, saying goodbye. Paige and Ciara were half asleep, but he came in anyway. Tom joked, “You gotta cherish this. Cherish it. I used to have a happy family in LA. And now everyone hates each other.” Translation: if y’all don’t get along, there might be a Summer House reboot in your future.

Jesse met up with Amanda and Lindsay in the kitchen to make breakfast. Suddenly, he was clueless as to why Ciara was mad at him. Amanda looked at him like, “You’re kidding me, right?” Lexi then wandered in, which was Amanda’s cue to exit stage left. But Lindsay stayed for a front-row seat to the action.

Chef Jesse asked Lexi what she would like him to whip up for breakfast. She responded deadpan, “You to stop talking sh*t about me.” Too bad that wasn’t on the menu.

Meanwhile, Amanda ran into Paige and Ciara’s room to tell them she escaped. Tom predicted Lexi and Jesse’s relationship was over. He said, “I feel like in two days I saw a year’s worth of a relationship transpire.” Paige said, “Imagine how tired we are.”

While they hid out in their room, Lexi and Jesse had it out in front of the group in the kitchen. Lindsay told Jesse he made Lexi feel like a fool, and he should understand her feelings. Lexi said, “He actually doesn’t, and that’s why I don’t want to date him.” Dun, dun, dun!

Lexi then dropped the bomb that Jesse had said she was flirting with West, which supposedly was worse than his behavior with Ciara. West said in his confessional, “I know for a fact my relationship with Lexi is clearly platonic. So don’t bring me into it f*ckface.”

Breakfast ended with Lexi telling Jesse she was over it. She stated, “I don’t want to be exclusive. Take the exclusive and shove it out the f*cking window. I’m done.” At least for the next 24 hours.

Lindsay met up with Danielle at the doctor’s to see an ultrasound that wasn’t mantle-sized. It was a very sweet moment that somehow ended with perineal massage being compared to Carl’s finger banging. Never change, Summer House!

Later, Jesse arrived at Lexi’s and told her he wasn’t happy she depicted him as a “monster.” Lexi said, “I think we might just not be compatible.” When Jesse pushed for them to be together, she didn’t commit. Lexi said they would have to decide, “Is it worth trying or not?”

Another couple asking that same question was Amanda and Kyle. But it was about trying to have kids. Amanda said, “I’m in, like, a weird place. Because there’s some days where I feel like, why am I not pregnant right now? Like, what are we doing? Why are we wasting our time? And then there’s other days were I’m like, should I even have kids?”

This was news to Kyle. He said in his confessional, “We’re coming up on three years married … and 90% of the blood, sweat, and tears I put into LoverBoy was for our future. For kids. In my mind, the only true payoff is there’s something more than what’s in my life now.” But would he tell Amanda his true feelings?

Summer House continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
