RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice Reveals Surprising Upside to Prison Stay

Teresa Giudice is looking back at one positive aspect of her time in prison. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was sentenced to 15 months behind bars after being indicted on federal fraud charges.

She started her sentence in 2014, and ended up getting out after 11 months. But even that time had to be a challenge. However, the RHONJ Bravolebrity recalled one benefit to being incarcerated. And that is all the time spent at the gym.

RHONJ star Teresa Giudice “worked out every single day” in prison

Teresa appeared on the May 12 episode of the Casual Chaos podcast, hosted by none other than her eldest daughter Gia Giudice. The reality TV mom told Gia that she was in the “sickest shape” of her life while in jail due to daily workouts.

Teresa claimed that she made “a bad situation into a good situation” at the Danbury, Conn. facility. “The grounds were beautiful because I saw all four seasons while I was there, and I worked out,” she added.

“I always try to make something [that is] a bad situation into a good situation,” Teresa reiterated. “I just worked out every single day, got in the sickest shape.”

But it wasn’t just a win for Teresa’s ego. She actually won a plank competition against “a lot” of other inmates.

Gia teased, “You won the contest for a plank. She held a 10-minute plank. Can you imagine holding a 10-minute plank? Murder. That’s criminal.”

Teresa admitted, “I can’t do a 10-minute plank anymore.”

Gia told listeners that the topic came up after their morning workout included plank holds. She shared, “We did one today when we were working out. And then as we’re holding our plank today, she looks up and goes, ‘I held one for ten minutes in prison.’ ”

Teresa then reflected on the media storm that followed her even while behind bars. The RHONJ star shared, “When I was there, I was outside a lot. So I used to walk the track a lot. And then … because everyone knew I was there, there would be helicopters outside trying to take my picture. So then we would get stuck, and then everybody would be not be able to go outside, and then some of the girls in there would be pissed at me.”

She added, “I’m like, not my fault that there’s helicopters trying to take my picture. I’m like, I wanna be outside too.”
