Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 9, Episode 14. Last week, the twists and turns continued between Jesse and Lexi. The two went from on again to off again to on again all within a week. Jesse then tried and failed to make amends with Ciara. Meanwhile, West opened up to the group when he talked about the anniversary of his friend’s passing. Then there’s Kyle, who shared the good news that he passed his sperm test with flying colors. However, Amanda didn’t want any little Cookes in the kitchen just yet. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 9, Episode 14: “The Ex Files.”

A taste of freedom was on the menu this week. Lexi finally pulled the trigger and called it quits with Jesse, but neither were happy with the aftermath. He was upset she called him a liar, and Lexi didn’t appreciate the rumors she ditched him because of Ciara. Lindsay also celebrated her independence. She hosted a freedom-themed dinner for the one-year anniversary of Carl breaking up with her. And Carl was over it all.

We jumped right back into Ciara telling Jesse she was over him and Lexi. And to be honest, who isn’t? Jesse responded, “I thought our friendship was a little deeper than you being over me.” Ciara paused and gave a nonchalant, “Okay.” Jesse added, “It hurts when you call me a two-faced liar. It’s really upsetting me.”

Ciara admitted she was confused with his back and forth and didn’t know what to believe. Was he joking or not? Jesse claimed he was trying to do right by Lexi. He then promised to improve as a friend and make it up to her. This did the trick, and he won Ciara back over. Ciara said, “Do I feel a little salty? Yeah, but I’ll get over it.”

Back in the city, Amanda was making her swimwear line a reality. She hosted a preview event for her friends and family to get a peek at what she had in store. Amanda said, “The line isn’t launching until February, but I want to show people that I actually did it. So, Paige can’t say, ‘Founder and CEO of what?’” And speaking of, founder and CEO Danielle made an appearance as well.

Kyle didn’t have his DJ microphone, but he introduced Amanda at her event. She couldn’t have been more thrilled. Amanda shared in her confessional, “I felt really lost last year. I was struggling professionally and mentally … I just feel like I’m starting to find myself again and figure out who I am and what I want. It’s very empowering.”

Lindsay’s timeline rubbed Carl the wrong way

West and Jesse reflected on their summer on the way up to the Hamptons. West noted it was a rough start but ended well for him. Jesse joked his summer felt extremely long. Still, Ciara and Lexi had forgiven him, so he assumed all was going to go well this weekend.

Unfortunately, that was not going to be the case. Lexi rode up with Gabby and Lindsay and dished she was dunzo with Jesse. She had invited him out, and he told her he was going to get a manicure instead. Who knew a 9pm manicure would be the tipping point? Lexi said, “It’s just gotten to the point where I don’t trust him at all.” Gabby wondered if it was worth saving, but Lexi had already made up her mind.

Then Lindsay’s Insta post came up. It was a detailed timeline of her accomplishments since Carl broke up with her, which was almost as long as one of Kyle’s seventeen-page emails. And in honor of all that, Lindsay was going to host a freedom dinner for the group. Lindsay explained, “Now all my dreams are coming true. And they wouldn’t have happened if I was still in that relationship.”

Carl had his own opinions of the post. He said, “I’m sorry, when you put something out in that depth of detail, it’s screaming something else inside of you, very deep and dark in your body, that is having a hard time with the reality of what actually f*cking happened. Period.” Then, right on cue, Lindsay walked through the door.

Amanda joked, “I saw your post. Sorry, I read your book. I thought we were done with timelines, Lindsay.” While the girls were laughing, Lexi was trying to figure out where to do the deed.

Jesse knew something was off with Lexi. And it didn’t take long for him to find out. Lexi pulled him aside from the guys to immediately break it off with him.

Everyone scurried to their seats. The girls were in the kitchen, and Gabby predicted, “I don’t think he’s going to take this well.” Outside, the guys rearranged their chairs. West joked, “I feel like we look like we’re watching a f*cking football game.” Kyle added, “I feel like we need binoculars.”

Then Lexi shared the news. She told Jesse they didn’t seem to be looking for the same thing in a relationship. Jesse asked if she still wanted to date, and she promptly shook her head no. Lexi said, “I just need to be with somebody that I can trust and without any doubt in my mind.”

Jesse wondered what had changed since they had last broken up and gotten back together. And he was shocked to hear it was the manicure. Lexi explained she didn’t trust anything he told her. She said, “You’ve changed me. I no longer trust people like I did at the start of the summer. I feel like the light in me is slowly dying because I’m exhausted from teaching you.”

This didn’t sit right with Jesse, and he told Lexi he did not lie to her all summer and didn’t appreciate being called a bad partner. When Lexi wouldn’t budge, Jesse crossed his arms and gave up. He said, “I’m not gonna fight you on it, that’s for sure.” Lexi quipped, “I didn’t think you were going to. You never do.” Ouch.

Ciara was in the middle of Jesse and Lexi’s drama

Meanwhile, Kyle got a crash course in “the ick.” He told Carl, “The girls were saying that Lexi got the ick. I’m like, what?” Carl wondered, “Whatever happened to just saying it’s a turnoff? Now we have yellow, red, beige flags.” Nothing a little Urban Dictionary can’t solve!

Jesse then dropped the bomb to everyone that Lexi was upset that he had fun with Ciara at the US Open. Kyle suspected there was more to the story, so he went to play detective himself.

He found Lexi and asked about Ciara, which set her off. Lexi said, “For him to say I’m ending this because of her, that’s fucking diabolical.” Oop.

Lindsay explained her freedom from Carl dinner to the group, which consisted of … sandwiches? I expected lobster and caviar from Lindsay for this momentous occasion. Carl felt Lindsay stated a reality that wasn’t a reality, but he really just wanted her to be happy and move on.

Lexi then confronted Jesse with the news Kyle shared about Ciara. Everyone told her to take a pause; it came from Kyle, after all. Lexi shared that Jesse said he “dislikes” Ciara. Jesse corrected her and said he disliked their conversation. It wasn’t the US Open, but the two volleyed back and forth with their accusations.

In the end, Lexi accused Jesse of pitting her against Ciara, which created a lack of trust between them. Lexi told Ciara, “I’m sorry, I don’t trust you.” To the season finale we go!

Summer House continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
