I think we can all agree that Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was an eventful one for Demi Engemann. The couple battled rumors that her husband, Bret Engemann, was unfaithful. Plus, Demi snatched the villain crown from Whitney Leavitt for Season 2. But did Demi mislead fans about how she and her husband first met?

Demi previously shared in a 2023 TikTok how she met Bret. “So if you don’t know, my husband and I are 16 years apart, and I knew him through a family friend growing up. He was so much older than me,” Demi said. “When I was 9 years old, he was married to his first wife and having babies.” Welp, it seems that Demi is walking back that part of their story.
US Weekly reported that Demi addressed the issue in an Instagram Q&A session. When asked if it was true that her husband had known her since she was “a child,” Demi had an interesting response. “I’ve made a couple satire TikToks about this and people are concerned … for good reason,” she said. “Oops.”
Demi continued, “We met for the first time at our mutual friend’s funeral when I was 22. I had heard of him, but he didn’t know I existed before then.” So, why put out a fake story about when you met your hubby? Make it make sense, because I am confused.
Meanwhile, Demi was also under the microscope after Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette hinted that Demi cheated. However, Demi denied that she was unfaithful, and alleged that she was “sexually assaulted” and “groped” while filming for Vanderpump Villa in Italy.
Unfortunately, Demi won’t be present at the Season 2 The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion because of a prior family commitment. We will have to get her side of the story about what happened at Castello Rosato in Season 3.
