We’ve reached the penultimate episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16, and things just got messier than ever with shocking accusations, a fur-filled fashion show, and some random dude named Marcus.
In Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 Episode 16, “Chicken and Waffles,” the ladies were fresh back from their Grenada trip and probably still scrubbing off the oil from Jab Jab. Their mission of reset, renew, and rebirth seemed like it had been successful, but reality started to sink in once they got back to Atlanta.
What happened in The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 Episode 16?

RHOA Season 16 Episode 16 saw Phaedra hosting a fashion show, while Brit and Kelli’s feud reached an incredible new low. Plus, a man named Marcus showed up out of nowhere and claimed to have secret information about Angela’s husband that left the entire group on edge. Keep on reading for a breakdown of all the tea from another wild episode from the Atlanta Housewives.
Strep throat and stress

Remember in Grenada when Shamea got a call that her nanny left her immunocompromised child in her crib without pajamas or a blanket? Well, Episode 16 kicked off with Shamea revealing that she came home from Grenada with strep throat. Just add that to the list of things to worry about.
The cameras rolled as Shamea took Shiloh to another doctor’s visit, nervous that she might have passed the strep throat on to her. Fortunately, that didn’t seem to be the case, but it just highlights how much Shamea has on her plate.
Then, Shamea dropped another bomb. She said that she and her husband decided to move forward with the surrogate they met with earlier in Season 16. The transfer didn’t take, and now, they’re putting those plans on pause. Prayers for Shamea. She’s really gone through it this season.
Kelli’s nightmare divorce got worse on Real Housewives of Atlanta

Another Peach going through it this season is Kelli. In Episode 16, she was back in court with her estranged husband. The cameras rolled as she went into court, hopeful that she’d leave a divorced woman.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. She left the courthouse in the same predicament she entered. They couldn’t get their issues resolved in the allotted time they had in the courtroom, so the hearing basically ended with a “to be continued.”
Later that day, Shamea stopped by Kelli’s house to offer her some emotional support. That’s when Kelli revealed that her estranged husband wound up going to jail after the court hearing over unpaid child support. It’s shocking — especially since this isn’t the first time it’s happened.
Everyone in the friend group knew Kell had this big divorce hearing, and they all reached out to Kelli to offer support. Well, mostly everyone. During Shamea’s visit, Kelli revealed that she hadn’t heard from Brit at all. She hadn’t heard from her since they got back from Grenada.
In Kelli’s eyes, that’s another strike against Brit. Her list of grievances is growing every day. By the end of this episode, she’s got another big one to add.
Kooking with Kelli … and Marcus
Despite all of Kelli’s divorce drama, she found time to host a cooking event with Williams Sonoma. It looked like a lot of fun, and it was supposed to be a cook-off with Charles, who is apparently a home chef in his spare time.
The two made some chicken and waffles, and everyone was all smiles. Then, a man named Marcus showed up out of nowhere and ruined everything. He popped up and tapped Angela on the shoulder.
“My name is Mrcus, and I need to speak with you off camera,” he told Angela. “I want to talk to you about your husband.”
Who is this man? Why is he talking to Angela, and who gave him a plate? This is not a space for interlopers and we’re not sure how he made it past Kelli’s security.
The ladies all looked very confused, and then they got even more confused when Marcus decided to lead a toast. He said, “Cheers if your name is Angela and your husband is cheating on you.”
Fortunately, it didn’t seem like Charles heard the comment. If he did hear it, then kudos to him for the expert job of ignoring it. He looked unfazed, but the rest of the ladies certainly weren’t. Phaedra immediately ran to her call and called up Porsha, who just happened to be hanging out with Brit and Cynthia. Phaedra told them about what happened, and now, everybody’s talking about Marcus.
A fashion show face-off

At the beginning of this episode, Phaedra teased that she was hosting a fashion show. Apparently, fashion archivist is one of her many job titles. Who knew?
Phaedra’s son Dylan has taken an interest in fashion, so she recruited him to show off some of his designs. Meanwhile, Ayden acted as his manager. It’s cute, and we love seeing Phaedra in mommy mode, but the mess that happened before the fashion show overshadowed everything positive about this event.
It all went down when Brit and Kelli saw each other backstage, for the first time since Grenada. Angela said that she and Charles had some people confront Marcus, and he said someone paid him to show up at the Kooking with Kelli event. We still don’t know who that was, but Kelli suggested that it was someone who wasn’t at the event, AKA Brit.
That comment sparked a nasty showdown between the two newbies. Phaedra compared it to watching a tennis match. This might be the only tennis match where both players lose.
Kelli and Brit started popping off at each other about the glam squad drama, but then Kelli escalated it by referring to Brit’s husband as her “pill-popping roommate.” It flashed over to Brit’s confessional, where she said it was time to empty the “clip” on Kelli. This lady really can’t get through an episode without a gun reference, can she?
“The stylist said you look a mess, so keep it up,” Brit said to Kelli. “Unless you want to talk about those abortions you had when you were married.”
Immediately, all of the air got sucked out of the room. It felt like we were back at the Kenya Moore Hair Spa with the way everyone’s jaws hit the floor. Meanwhile, Drew was locked outside of the event, a punishment for showing up late to an event that hadn’t started.
Rest in Peace, Londie

Obviously, calling someone out for having an abortion is beyond uncouth, but we don’t expect anything less from Brit, who is currently trying to sue Bravo for $20 million over the events of Season 16. It took a few beats for the ladies to recover from that comment, but in the end, they all came together to recognize something important.
Porsha’s cousin, Yolanda “Londie” Favors, passed away during the filming of RHOA Season 16. We just saw her earlier this season at the Pampered by Porsha event. Her unexpected passing rocked Porsha and her family.
Ahead of the fashion show, Porsha told Phaedra that she wouldn’t be able to make it. Pastor Phaedra clocked in and brought the ladies together to have a somber moment for Porsha’s family, despite the chaotic drama that had unfolded between Brit and Kelli.
“We just need to support her during this time,” Phaedra said of their pal, Porsha.
“This group is a big group. We fall out, but at the end of the day, we’re sisters,” Phaedra continued. “We’ve got to stick together and really support each other because you never know when it’s the last time.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 finale airs next Sunday on Bravo at 8/7c. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
