Season 2 of The Valley has not been Jax Taylor’s finest hour. He had a violent outburst and flipped over a coffee table, bruising his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright’s, knee. He went to rehab, but continued to rage text his ex, destroying her peace of mind. Their split and divorce battle was beyond messy.
And, in a disturbing twist, he also spied on her through cameras in their house. Of course, there is no excuse for Jax’s behavior. And when he returned to filming, Jax was still prone to angry outbursts. Now, Jax’s future in The Valley has been decided.

Jax’s team issued a statement announcing his departure. The statement, obtained by Variety, reads, “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting relationship.” The statement concluded, “Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”
Fans of The Valley have wondered what Jax’s role would be for Season 3. After all, petitions were circulating demanding that he be fired for his outrageous behavior. His behavior towards Brittany was troubling, and viewers were not pleased.
In addition, executive producer Alex Baskin was accused of “platforming an abuser” by giving Jax a role on the show. “I don’t think that’s really ‘platforming an abuser’ as much as that is platforming the story – which includes Brittany’s experience as well as Jax’s,” Alex previously stated.
And this isn’t the first time that Jax exited a Bravo show. He and Brittany were fired from Vanderpump Rules after Season 8.
The Valley airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
