Scheana Shay has been very open and honest about her journey through motherhood. From suffering a miscarriage to her post-partum OCD diagnosis after welcoming her daughter Summer Moon, it’s been a rocky road. Nevertheless, she isn’t counting out the idea of expanding her family.
A road block that is currently in her way is HELLP, which stands for Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, and Low Platelets. She was diagnosed with this syndrome after her harrowing labor with Summer that lasted 24 hours. It would be a high-risk pregnancy for both Scheana and a baby if she wanted to have another child naturally. Which leads her and her husband Brock Davies to their backup plan: surrogacy.
Scheana Shay thinks she and Brock Davies will “eventually” look at surrogacy options
Scheana recently revealed that surrogacy might be the next best thing for her plan to have more kids.
“He and I have had several conversations about it, and you know what, if it just wasn’t in the cards, that’s okay, but we are going to explore the surrogate route eventually. I froze my eggs seven years ago, so now he’s just got to fertilize them,” she explained to PEOPLE.
The reality TV star made it clear, though, that while it’s being discussed, it’s not in their current plans.
“And one step at a time, I’m not ready for another baby just yet, and I want to enjoy more time with Summer before we have a baby and we’re changing diapers and we’re trying to travel.”
Maybe she and former Vanderpump Rules co-star Lala Kent will be pregnant at the same time? After all, Lala plans to be carrying baby number three within a year. Get them a spinoff show pronto!
