Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is still dealing with her divorce from Tom Girardi. However, that hasn’t stopped Erika from dating. And while the RHOBH star has often claimed that she isn’t looking for a serious relationship, she hit it off with John “Shrek” McPhee.
While this may seem like an unexpected pairing, the heart wants what the heart wants. John, who is a retired US Army Special Operations Sergeant Major, also worked as Heidi Montag’s bodyguard.
Now Erika is opening up about John and their relationship. And it sounds like Erika is happy with her new man.
Erika Jayne says John McPhee is “a nice man”
Erika dropped some details about her relationship with John on her podcast, Diamonds in the Rough. “I met someone and we went out on two dates, and then we went to get a manicure-pedicure. What was a nice, private moment and a nice, private thing I was having for myself was ruined,” Erika said. The couple clearly wasn’t aware that they were being photographed during their date in Los Angeles earlier in July.
“It was really nice. Like, I feel comfortable holding this person’s hand, and he’s a nice man,” Erika explained. “I haven’t been seen with anybody in five years. So this is a really nice person, and I enjoy my time with him.”
Spending time in divorce court is a hobby that the couple shares. While Erika’s divorce is lingering in limbo and in danger of being thrown out, in February 2025, John filed for divorce from Jennifer Blanton.
Erika previously explained she would never tie the knot again. “Like I said years ago, I don’t think I’ll ever be legally married to anyone ever again. But, of course, you know, the idea of having someone in your life is a nice, is a nice idea,” she said. Maybe she found that special someone with John.
