Back when Kim Zolciak starred on Don’t Be Tardy, she detailed her estranged relationship with her parents. According to Kim, her parents had been selling stories about her life to the tabloids. Therefore, Kim cut them out of her life to maintain her peace of mind. She did, however, encourage her children to move differently, never demanding that they cut their grandparents off as well. Thankfully, many years have passed, and things are much different in this family now, as Kim recently shared on Bravo.
Kim Zolciak said reuniting with her parents was “good”
Two weeks ago, Kim posted on Instagram, sharing that she had recently reunited with her parents. They spent time together, Kim explained, noting that she was now living in a “forever grateful” headspace. Her post contained many images, including one featuring a smiling Kim standing behind her equally happy-looking parents, Karen and Joe Zolciak.
Following this positive reveal, Kim appeared on Watch What Happens Live. Here, host Andy Cohen read from a cue card that contained a question from a viewer, asking Kim what this reunion was like for the RHOA alum. Additionally, they asked, were Kim and her parents still in a solid place?
“It was awesome,” Kim admitted, stressing that it was “great to see my parents. A lot of time had passed.” And in their time apart, her father had experienced a stroke. This incident impacted Kim, who realized that it “was time” to try and start moving forward with her parents.
Likewise, her parents had been equally concerned for her well-being. As we all know, Kim is experiencing a messy divorce. This divorce has created many headlines, which caused her father to reach out to her divorce attorney, wanting to know how his estranged daughter was. This action on his part moved Kim, who then got back in touch with her parents.
To date, Kim and her parents remain close. After all, “Life is too short” to hold a grudge forever, she ended.
Don’t Be Tardy is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
