The Real Housewives of New York has served viewers some lackluster seasons. The show underwent a complete reboot, with less than dazzling results. It seems that the newbies couldn’t replicate the successful DNA of previous seasons. Plus, fans of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy edition were also disappointed when the gang didn’t snag another season.
However, RHONY is on a permanent pause, with its future uncertain at best. Now, rumors are swirling that RHONY Legacy could be making a comeback with some of the original cast. Will Big Apple fans finally have something to cheer about?
Could RHONY Legacy return after their successful RHUGT season?
According to Bravo and Cocktails, a source claimed that a RHONY Legacy show was in the works, but it would air on E! instead of Bravo. Apparently, after losing the juggernaut Keeping Up with the Kardashians, E! was hoping to get back in the reality game. Plus, after airing on E!, the show would be available to stream on Peacock.
“Unlike the previous Legacy project, which revolved around a single trip,” the new series “would lean into classic Housewives: day-to-day lives, friendships, and New York social drama,” Bravo and Cocktails reported.
So, who would be part of this reported Legacy cast? Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Kelly Bensimon, and Dorinda Medley were listed as possible cast members. In addition, “one or two of their close girlfriends” would also join the festivities. However, Ramona Singer would not be returning.
Well, an insider told OK! that the rumor is false. “The cast has not been informed of anything and is unaware of any projects,” the source stated. The insider added that the cast is “of course, always open, willing and ready.”
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip is streaming on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
