If you are still shocked by Wendy Osefo’s arrest, you are not alone. The Real Housewives of Potomac star was arrested on October 9, along with her husband Eddie Osefo. And this just as Wendy’s RHOP co-star, Karen Huger, recently completed her prison sentence.
Wendy was indicted on eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, along with a charge of lying to a police officer. In addition, she was charged with seven counts of felony insurance fraud. The couple allegedly staged a burglary at their residence, and they filed an insurance claim reporting that $450,000 worth of jewelry and handbags were stolen.

According to the sheriff’s office, the RHOP stars returned the items to stores and obtained refunds before the burglary allegedly took place. Plus, when the couple’s home was searched. more of the allegedly stolen items were located.
Meanwhile, a rep for Wendy and Eddie said in a statement, “The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
However, Wendy spoke out via Instagram, posing in a black and white dress featuring a plunging neckline. The RHOP star captioned the photos, “And through it all, GOD remains faithful. Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful,” she wrote with a praying hand emoji. She also asked fans to tune into that evening’s episode of RHOP.
Still, Dr. Wendy is experiencing fallout from the criminal allegations. Although it was originally reported that Wendy was fired from her position as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Sociology at Wesleyan University, that turned out not to be the case. The university released a statement clarifying that Wendy resigned from her position.
