Dolores Catania Defends Meredith Marks With Odd Statement

It’s not uncommon for Housewives to defend one another’s behavior, even across franchises. Dolores Catania of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has done this often on her podcast, and this time she comes to the defense of Meredith Marks of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for taking a call mid-argument. However, Dolores’ defense statement was rather strange.

Dolores wants to “make out with the phone” when her son Frankie Jr. calls her

For context, things have been pretty dramatic on RHOSLC. While flying home from their exciting crossover trip, Meredith supposedly got into a heated argument with Britani Bateman. The two have had issues long before the plane debacle, though (mistress accusations and yeeting unicorns).

Then the ladies went to Greece, and there was tension between Heather Gay and Meredith during the ride. And as things began to escalate, and in the middle of Heather speaking, Meredith took a phone call from her son, Brooks Marks.

According to Meredith, she was upset that she missed a Mother’s Day call earlier that day, so she had to answer. This was followed by a hilarious impersonation of Meredith by Heather in her confessional.

Now, Dolores is coming to Meredith’s defense about taking the phone call. As a mom, Dolores makes it clear that she will always take her son’s call no matter what. That’s not surprising for a mother. But it’s the manner in which she said it that left fans bewildered.

“There was nothing wrong with (Meredith) taking Brooks’ call because when little Frankie calls me, I want to make out with the phone. I want to shove it down my throat,” Dolores said on Two T’s in a Pod. “So I’m taking that call no matter if I was in the middle of Watch What Happens Live.”

It seems a bit strange to phrase it that way. Fans on social media thought so, too. “She should have stopped at taking the call,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Uh, that’s a weird take. Taking the call? Sure. Making out with the phone? Creepy.”

She was probably using hyperbole to make a point, but there were probably better ways to do it.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
