Dorit Kemsley is navigating an ongoing divorce from PK Kemsley during the latest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And things are getting ugly. Along with navigating PK dating, Dorit is now exploring new, uncharted, and unexplored financial territory.
Dorit says estranged husband PK Kemsley broke a promise
Dorit sat down with Bozoma Saint John and Amanda Frances during the latest episode of RHOBH. She explained that PK handled all of their finances, even before they were married in 2015. She also clarified that when they married, PK was broke.
“PK came into the relationship broke,” Dorit explained. “He had lost his business, and he was really starting from scratch. So there was nothing to protect.”
She explained to Boz and Amanda that during their marriage, PK “handled everything.” Amanda, the self-professed money queen, clarified, “So you weren’t thinking of how the finances were?”
Dorit admitted that she wasn’t. “For the last 14 years, PK’s been paying the lion’s share of our family outgoings,” she explained. “When we separated, he said that the finances would stay the same.”
But this was short-lived. “A month later, I got an email saying that he decided that he’s no longer going to do that,” Dorit added. “And I was like, ‘How can you change this all of a sudden?’ And his answer was, ‘I was only agreed to that for one month.’”
Dorit realized that she had no knowledge of the basic financial information for the family, including retirement or investment accounts. “I have yet to discover everything,” Dorit admitted to Boz and Amanda, who looked skeptical.
Dorit also shared that she and PK had a business manager. After she filed for divorce, there was never any hand-off or any settling of responsibilities. She would “just find out” from the business manager whenever PK decided that he was “not gonna pay” for something anymore.
It looks like things are going to get messy. PK and Dorit have historically had different views of their situation, so time will tell what he thinks about their financial arrangement.
