Lisa Vanderpump Shares Her Experience With Grief Counseling

Vanderpump Rules star Lisa Vanderpump is known for giving her staff chance after chance. And that is still the case during Season 12 with newbie Marcus Johnson. When Marcus shared he had been drinking more due to the loss of his parents, Lisa offered to set him up with some grief counseling. After Marcus took her up on the offer, Lisa checked in to see how he was doing and shared her experience with grief counseling as well.

Lisa has had a hard time dealing with the loss of her family members over the years. It started back in 2018 when she sadly lost her brother due to an overdose

Still, Lisa went back to work filming. But grief had taken its toll on her, and she had decided Season 9 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was going to be her last season, and she took a break from VPR.

So, when Marcus started spiraling at work, Lisa stepped in to find out what was going on. Marcus had shared he was drinking more due to losing both his parents over the past couple of years. Lisa knew from her own experience that grief counseling would help.

During Season 12, Episode 4, Marcus touched base with Lisa about his experience going to grief counseling. And that’s when Lisa shared hers as well.

She told Marcus, “It was just talking to somebody who didn’t have any skin in the game but totally understood. For me, a light bulb went on, and I saw things in a different way. I don’t know if it’s going to be the same for you.”

For his part, Marcus was feeling good. We saw a brief scene with him at a grief counseling session. He told Lisa, “You know, life has been going a little bit better for me lately, and I’m thankful for that.”

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
