Ashley Tisdale created plenty of buzz with her essay about being part of a “toxic mom group.” Her essay, which was published in The Cut, prompted some shady responses from fellow mom group members. Now, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Crystal Kung Minkoff is weighing in on all the drama.
In Ashley’s essay, she detailed being allegedly excluded from group activities. In her final message to the group chat, Ashley exited the group. “This is too high school for me, and I don’t want to take part in it anymore,” she texted. However, there are some differing opinions on the matter.

However, a source claimed that Ashley was pushed out of the group because she “was only interested in things that benefited her or suited her interests.” During her podcast, Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia, Crystal explained that she has experience with this mom group.
“I know, probably, 70 percent of the mom group because we all went to preschool together. We’re all the same group,” Crystal explained. Eventually, fans put together that this group could be the 14 friends that Crystal said dumped her when she joined RHOBH. “What I found interesting is that Ashley’s story was that she left the group, and my story is I didn’t leave the group. I did the show, and they just said – I did a whole episode about this, so it’s not untold – they all went against me and dropped me,” Crystal explained.
She continued, “Ashley’s getting 90 percent [of the] hate. I kept [my story] private. I didn’t want anyone to know.” Crystal added, “It all came from other sources.”
In addition, Crystal has empathy for both sides. “I went through this. So my initial [thought] is I feel for all sides, because I know the group,” she said.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
