Crystal Kung Minkoff Says She Only Lost 3 Out Of The 14 Friends In Her Group

The never ending saga of the Fox Force Five picking apart Crystal Kung Minkoff continues. I thought they would never get off her calling Sutton Stracke’s private comments “dark.” We did, but her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates quickly moved on to something else. Mainly, rumors that Crystal was dropped by her friend group of 14. Imagine having 14 friends! But maybe that’s just me.

Now Crystal is addressing the rumors that supposedly EVERYONE magically heard once they turned against her. She posted an answer to a fan question on her Instagram stories with the scoop. Fan account Real Housewives Zone captured the disappearing slide and shared it on their page. A fan asked Crystal, “Will it be revealed why the 14 friends dropped you? It just doesn’t seem right.” They added a shrug emoji at the end.

Crystal posted a light response to the question. She wrote, “In the end, it was only 3 people. The rest came back and apologized.” She continued, “But success affects people in different ways. It affects people around you too. Some can’t handle it. Some can’t celebrate it.” Crystal then offered up some advice and said, “Don’t let your success stop you from achieving your goals. Don’t let others convince you that you don’t deserve it.”

Her response concluded with a heart emoji, “And if you lose them, they were never your friends to begin with.” Ok, so basically some of her friends were mad she was cast on RHOBH. Got it. I don’t know if I would refer to being cast on reality tv a “success.” But I suppose if you’re running in a rich circle of friends that all find themselves interesting, it is. And it is a paid job that brings additional opportunities, plus exposure.

With that exposure comes some major pitfalls though. After her first season, Crystal revealed at the reunion that she received a lot of anti-Asian hate on social media. And Crystal has not only been subjected to the criticism of her castmates, but she’s also subjected to former housewives coming for her too. Camille Grammer recently called her storyline “boring.” Speaking of boring, ICYMI, Teddi Mellencamp is the one who suggested Crystal for the show. And she claims to know that 14 friend group that everyone is talking about.

Teddi told Jeff Lewis on an episode of his radio show, “Crystal was my friend that I referred to be on the show. They hired her and fired me!”

And Teddi has maintained that Crystal is anything but boring. On a May episode of her podcast, Two T’s In A Pod, Teddi had Crystal on as a guest and shared her take. Teddi told listeners, “The one thing that I’ve noticed about Crystal, because I’ve known her for nine years, is that Crystal, not on television, is the life of the party. I’m telling you, she walks into every room. She’s having fun. She’s dancing. She’s twerking.”

Teddi said, “She’s over the top, so much fun, which is why I originally referred her on the show.” Teddi then addressed Crystal and noted, “You’re a little bit different on the show.”
