Things have been quite tense between Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars Meredith Marks and Britani Bateman. Season 6 found them at odds when Britani alleged Meredith’s husband, Seth Marks, had a mistress. This set off a chain of events where Meredith supposedly went ballistic on Britani during the plane ride home from Caribbean island Canouan. But something else happened that viewers weren’t privy to, and that was Meredith feeling attacked by Britani because of her religion.
Britani Bateman calls Meredith Marks’ bigotry accusations “absolutely ridiculous”
Meredith made it known she was no fan of Britani’s after Britani had alleged Seth cheated on her. Eventually, Meredith apologized to Britani, and she accepted. So, all’s well that ends well, right? Unfortunately, not.
During the RHOSLC Season 6 Reunion Part 2, Meredith shared with the group why she was more hostile to Britani. She said, “…it’s rooted in bigotry.”
Meredith explained, “She supported a bigot. This nail technician … He had this interaction with a Jewish man where allegedly he was like, ‘Oh, you’re Jewish.’ And made a nasty fake emoji on it.”
She continued, “And the guys like, ‘What’s wrong with that?’ And the nail tech responded with, ‘Jews are pedophiles who escaped prosecution by fleeing to Israel’ … and the guy was attacked on his Google review page.”
Meredith added the nail tech reached out to Britani to write a review to boost his page, and Britani complied. But when Britani learned about the scandal, Meredith claimed her response was, “I only saw the one thing. Was there more?”
Britani responded, “That’s absolutely ridiculous.” She said Meredith shared the same nail tech and Meredith was just as guilty for not knowing. Britani added she called them and asked if they were antisemitic and said she was going to take her post down.
Andy Cohen asked Meredith, “Has she ever said anything antisemitic to you?” Meredith quipped, “She’s been on the attack of me from day one.”
Andy then pushed further. He asked, “But did you feel she was attacking you because of your religion?” Meredith responded, “It felt like it was very targeted.”
