JD Vance Makes New Comments on Donald Trump & Epstein Relationship

Vice President JD Vance has addressed claims that Donald Trump maintained a close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking at the University of Georgia, Vance acknowledged Epstein’s criminal history but argued the relationship between the two men was marked by mutual disdain rather than camaraderie.

Addressing students at the University of Georgia, JD Vance made his position clear while discussing Jeffrey Epstein’s broader network and allegations tied to powerful individuals. He called Epstein “a scumbag” and acknowledged his connections to influential figures. However, he emphasized that Donald Trump should not be grouped into that circle.

Vance pushed back aggressively against what he described as a “democratic idea” that Trump and Epstein were close confidants. He argued that the reality of their relationship was defined by mutual disdain rather than friendship. “If you look at those emails, they were the same; everybody in Palm Beach knew everybody,” Vance explained. “But what you see in those emails is that Jeffrey Epstein hated Donald Trump and Donald Trump hated Jeffrey Epstein.”

He cited email evidence suggesting Trump had actively warned local authorities about Epstein’s behavior. “In fact, one of the emails is about Donald Trump narking on Epstein to the local sheriff, saying this guy is a scumbag. You should go pick him up,” Vance told the audience. He clarified that when Trump has called certain narratives a “hoax,” he was specifically rejecting the portrayal of himself as Epstein’s “best friend,” not denying Epstein’s criminality or his vast network of influential associates.

This defense came after JD Vance emphasized the need for a rigorous investigation into powerful people accused of misconduct. “I don’t want powerful people, you know, being involved in this disgusting behavior,” he said (via NBC News).

Donald Trump himself has maintained that he didn’t hold close ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
