Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 12. Last week, the tension between Amanda and Ben continued over her comments to his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Bailey hoped Carl would ask her out on a date, but Carl was too focused on Kyle treating him poorly instead. And finally, West decided to shoot any chance he had with Ciara down the drain when he made out with a girl right in front of her. But it seemed Amanda was the one who was the most upset about it. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 12: “Boys of Summer.”
What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 12?
It was a big week for KJ and Dara as the two decided to make things official. But Mia and Ciara were concerned they might be moving too fast. Meanwhile, Mia met with a medium who passed along several messages from her mother. And one of those was to make a much needed change in her life. Ciara decided to make a change as well and forgive West. They finally opened up to each other and decided to be best friends once again. Welp, that was short-lived!
KJ wanted to let his guard down for Dara
Ciara was still shook from seeing West make out with a girl right next to her. After Amanda’s pep talk, which may or may not have been genuine, the crew went out to support Kyle at his DJ gig. When it was over, Kyle snuggled up to Amanda, and the two said, “I love you.” I have a feeling that will be the last time we ever hear them say those words.
The next morning, KJ and Dara discussed how rock-solid they were. Dara said the girls gave them a shoutout for “forming a relationship and not making it everyone’s problem.” KJ agreed and said that’s how they roll.
In his confessional, KJ marveled he’s never liked anyone as much as Dara. But this meant he needed to be open, which was a struggle. He explained he had been hurt badly in the past. Still, he didn’t want that to hinder him.
KJ stated, “When someone comes along who may be that person for you, and you have that wall up, then you ruin it unintentionally. And I don’t want to do that with Dara.”
After her conversation with KJ, Dara left to go see Ciara and Mia. She told Ciara that West talked about her all night long. Ciara sighed. She didn’t want to be “bamboozled” again. Mia stated, “West is in the doghouse.”
And he knew it too. West complained in his confessional, “Yeah, of course I feel bad. My main objective still is don’t upset Ciara. Like, don’t hurt her feelings.” He added that things were going well and he felt comfortable in the house until he “ruined it” by making out with a random girl. Ah, the trappings of fame.
Mia met with a medium
In order to get out of the doghouse, West went and apologized to Ciara. He wanted to make sure the good will he had built with her wasn’t ruined by his actions. But Ciara wasn’t having it.
She said, “I want you to be able to live your life and be free and whatever. So … let’s just keep it at that. Like, it’s best if we’re not friends.” West countered, “I’ve put so much effort in just trying to prove to you that I do care. Like, it just sounds like none of it mattered.” He tried so hard, you guys.
Back in the city, Ciara met up with Mia and her brother Nick to go to a psychic medium. Mia was looking for closure from her mom’s passing. And by the looks on their faces, this medium was spot on about their family.
The medium spoke to their grandmother and mother. She told Mia her mom said, “I just want you to know I can breathe okay and I’m happy.” When Mia wondered if she needed to make a change in her life, the medium advised her to be more confident. She also predicted Mia would have a baby girl in her future. Nick joked, “I need a cocktail.”
Meanwhile, West volunteered at a dog adoption event, with Kyle and Amanda meeting up to support him. While Kyle got them drinks, Amanda chastised West for his actions.
West wondered what he jeopardized with Ciara. He said, “Was it friendship … rekindling … her tolerating me for eight weeks during the summer?” Amanda advised him to take accountability and apologize, but was it too little too late?
The bros took over the share house
It was back to the Hamptons, and Dara had big news. She dished to Mia, Ciara, and Scott that KJ asked her to be his girlfriend. However, Mia and Ciara were concerned they might be moving too quickly. Mia also wasn’t thrilled that her boyfriend Scott was going back to Miami for work the next day, with his return date TBD.
All the bros rode up in the other car with West moaning that Amanda told him to apologize to Ciara again. KJ told West to let his actions speak louder than words. Which he sure did when he made out with that girl.
Kyle was the first one there and broke the news that Amanda wasn’t coming. So, Ciara FaceTimed her to find out why because none of the girls were happy with the current guy-to-girl ratio.
Amanda told Ciara the idea of going to the house “overwhelmed” her. She was over the Kyle of it all. While Ciara chatted with Amanda, West bumbled in to apologize.
He said, “Don’t feel any better … after a week, uh, I’m pretty bummed out about it. And I apologize. That’s it.” Alrighty, then. However, Ciara knew what she had to do. And that was to forgive him.
She said in her confessional, “Here’s the thing. I don’t hate him. But it’s really hard to keep up the front that I do. And it’s just getting exhausting at this point. I just feel like I built up stories in my head about who he is and the things that he’s done. And I’m sure he’s built up stories in his head, and we should just talk and just put it all out there.”
Ciara and West finally open up to each other
Levi might be cut out of the show for good, but her life-sized cutout remained and was placed by the front door. We’ll never know if she’ll return, and that’s how Mia was feeling about Scott. After her talk with the medium, Mia knew she needed to make a big change in order to grow.
Kyle felt the same. With Amanda gone, he admitted he felt like he could be himself. Summer should be fun!
He said, “Here I am, for the first time in a long time, having fun … and it’s because my wife is nowhere to be seen. And that is a rude awakening. And it makes me realize just how F’d we really are.”
Ciara wanted to make a change as well, one for the better with West. So the two left to go have a chat in private. Ciara admitted it’s been two years with “nothing being said” between them.
She said, “I’m almost scared to be nice to you … because I’m afraid to be embarrassed.” Ciara added, “The very thing that I was afraid of happened, and you sat right next to me and didn’t see me.”
She also brought up him hurting her by going to the press about their relationship. West apologized but stated he had to defend himself. When West told Ciara, “I see you,” she let her guard down.
Ciara asked, “Can we just be best friends again?” Then the two shared a warm and tearful embrace. Oh, boy.
