Dwayne Johnson reportedly modeled a masculine skirt at the Met Gala 2026. The 54-year-old actor donned a black mohair tailcoat and a bow tie over a white shirt underneath. Johnson paired it with a matching pleated skirt and dark slacks with boots. The Smashing Machine star looked debonair as he walked hand-in-hand with his wife, Lauren Hashian.

Dwayne Johnson opted for a bold skirt at the Met Gala 2026. In a brief chat with Variety, he spoke about his custom-made look by Thom Browne. As per the designer, the tailcoat boasted over 350 meters of hand-pleated silk ribbons in a “skeletal composition.” Moreover, Johnson wore a Billionaire III White Diamonds Jacob & Co watch worth $3.3 million and thick-framed glasses to complete the look.
The Moana star explained how he collaborated with Browne to create his now iconic Met Gala look. Johnson replied, “I feel great! First, [Thom Browne’s team] sent the illustrations over and [asked], ‘Hey, is DJ going to be cool with this pleated skirt?’ And I was like, ‘Look, in our culture, Polynesian culture, we rock lavalavas, we rock skirts.’ The most masculine men, not that I’m one of them, but the most masculine men wear lavalavas and skirts.”
Simultaneously, fans lavished praise on Johnson. One fan commented, “Culture > stereotypes… respect the roots.” A second fan wrote, “As masculine as it can get,” followed by clap emojis. A third fan penned, “Bro, the most masculine line hit: lavalavas is peak flex, culture on the main stage.” A fourth fan chimed in, “Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a super cool dude.”
This isn’t the first time the wrestler-turned-actor has spoken about positive masculinity. At CinemaCon 2026, while promoting Disney’s live-action Moana, Johnson said “real masculinity” for men of all ages means empowering women in their lives. “All men of all ages should empower and support and champion all women. That’s what real masculinity looks like,” he explained (via Variety).
