And we’re back in Punta Cana for your Southern Hospitality Season 4 recaps! This week, we’re back in the Dominican Republic. The crew ziplines, dines in the sky, hits the club, and visits the church where Michols grew up. It’s, honestly, a nice little respite from all the fighting. Here’s everything that happened in Southern Hospitality Season 4, Episode 10: “You Can’t Go to Church with Us!”
What Went Down on Southern Hospitality Season 4 Episode 10?
We pick up where we left off, with Emmy completely unaware that she’s made Michols uncomfortable. It’s like they had two different discussions. Emmy believes they made progress, while Michols is more convinced than ever that she’s being selfish. He’s just done with “that bitter hag.”
Needless to say, it’s pretty awkward at the table as Maddi and Michols head back. Molly suggests going to the bar and letting loose for a bit, and Emmy heads back to the room. She’s probably not delusional enough that she doesn’t see that things are kind of weird.
The group (sans Emmy) decides to table the drama for a bit and just enjoy dancing and drinking their first official night in the Dominican Republic.
Michols creates a safeword for drama, and Lake and Molly talk it out

The next day, over breakfast, Michols institutes a safeword for drama for the trip. He picks plantain. When things are heating up or getting too awkward, someone just needs to shout “plantain,” and, theoretically, it should stop. No drama today (we’ll see if it works)!
In the spirit of openness, Molly calls out Lake and asks why Lake doesn’t like her. Lake says she just doesn’t like Molly’s bad energy, stemming from when Molly ignored her. Lake also adds that she didn’t like Molly helping spread the rumor about her, Oisin, and the threesome. To be fair, the rumor didn’t come from Molly. She heard it from Michols. Everyone seems to have heard it from someone else.
Lake denies the threesome vehemently. Brad asks her point-blank if they hooked up after prom, and she tries to deny it, too, but Joe won’t let her because he knows they 100% did. Oisin even admits he took a “deep dive into the Lake.” No denying it now. So we know for sure they hooked up, but the threesome remains unconfirmed.
Eventually, Molly, Mia, and Lake decide to bury the hatchet and move forward. Finally!
Ziplining and Joe, Brad, and TJ talk about the future

The group heads out for some fun! In the spirit of making new friends, everyone sits next to someone else in the van. It’s all going great except with Molly and Emmy. They obviously don’t like one another. Molly admits that Emmy has thwarted all her attempts at friendship, and she’s done trying.
It’s time to zipline! And it’s a long one. The group starts at the top and then goes on another zipline through the water. Everyone has a great time!
After the ziplining, Brad, Joe, and TJ talk about the future. Joe mentions he thinks Julia will be a great mom one day, and Brad is definitely seeing a future with her. Joe talks about wanting to marry Maddi, but he’s still a bit unsure what his future holds. Maybe he’ll be a stay-at-home dad TikToker?
Brad and TJ encourage him to follow his passion and find out what type of business he wants. They’re both pretty successful in their own ventures and want him to discover his path, outside of just being Maddi’s companion and hype guy.
Dinner and a touch of drama in the sky

After a fun day out, it’s time for some daredevil stunts with dinner in the sky. The group gets strapped down to a chair and table that is suspended 140 feet in the air. Maddi is freaking out, and the others are also a bit wary of the height. Plus, they’re trapped. If the dinner conversation gets uncomfortable, there’s no running away.
Over dinner, Molly tells Emmy they have a weird vibe, and Emmy says she has no idea why. TJ calls her out on this and says Emmy is fake AF. He believes one of the reasons their vibe is weird is that Emmy’s fiancé, Will, used to flirt with Molly behind the bar, and Emmy didn’t like that.
Emmy looks like she’d made a hasty exit if she could, but since they’re suspended in the air, she can’t. Emmy says she wants to develop a “respectable acquaintance” with Molly. For the sake of the dinner and to avoid using plantain, Molly accepts, but will also remain cautious.
After dinner, they all head to a fun club and everyone dances and lets their hair down. Michols and TJ kiss at the club, but there is an awkward undertone. It looks like Michols wants to lay it all on the line, but TJ is hesitant. They’re going to need to have a conversation.
Some serious talks between Joe and Maddi, and TJ and Michols

The next day, Brad shocked everyone and said that he and Julia had broken up. Everyone was about to freak out, but then Julia arrived and surprised them! Whew!
Maddi and Joe finally get a little alone time and enjoy a couple’s massage. Maddi shares that she’s nervous about her set because she really wants to do an international tour, and this could be the start. She wants it to go well.
Joe opens up to her and says he wants to figure out what he wants to do, too. He wants to work for his future family. As they discuss the future, Maddi reveals she’s worried about infertility because she has celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, GERD, and a family history of fertility issues.
She’s scared, but she’s had some bloodwork done about her fertility. Joe promises to be with her no matter what, and she discusses possibly freezing her eggs.
Meanwhile, TJ and Michols also discuss their “friends with benefits” relationship. TJ is hoping the physical stuff doesn’t impact their friendship. He thinks Michols might want more, and that’s not where he is right now.
TJ adds that he worries because Michols just came out, and he’s young. He thinks Michols needs time to explore and discover himself. TJ isn’t looking for just a relationship. He is looking for something serious, and the age difference is an issue for him.
Michols invites Joe, Maddi, Lake, and TJ to church

Michols invites his closest friends to go to a church his family used to go to with him. It’s important to him, so he only wants to be surrounded by positive energy. The others spend time on the beach.
Emmy isn’t invited to church, and instead of trying to understand why, she makes it about her again. She thinks Michols not inviting her was done on purpose to hurt her.
Michols shows Joe, Maddi, TJ, and Lake around the beautiful church that his grandmother visits every time she goes home. It’s stunning. And it’s an important moment for Michols. He grew up Roman Catholic, but since coming out, he’s struggled because he worried about not belonging.
This visit was exceptionally meaningful to him to be there with people who love and accept him for exactly who he is, which gives him a great sense of peace. Everyone tells him they love him and are proud of him.
It’s a nice little calm before the storm. Next time, it looks like Emmy drama is back in full force …
Southern Hospitality airs Thursday nights at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
