Meghan Markle ‘Can’t Put Genie Back in Bottle’ After ‘Ironic’ Move — Expert

Meghan Markle has recently revamped her personal social media account and business pages, changing the overall look of her website and social media presence. The Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from her senior working royal role alongside Prince Harry in 2020, has since been focusing on building their careers away from the monarchy through independent ventures.

For now, her primary focus appears to be her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Amid the changes, an expert noted that because audiences constantly seek something new, she has to keep evolving and keep everything “new and fresh.” However, the expert also added that she “can’t put genie back in bottle.”

Expert calls out Meghan Markle ‘depending on the digital world for her commercial success’

Meghan Markle founded her lifestyle brand, As Ever, in 2025. Recently, she refreshed both her Instagram account and business page with a revamped aesthetic. Her current focus appears to be on expanding As Ever as much as possible. The Duchess of Sussex also recently shared a video titled, “Welcome to the World of As Ever,” highlighting the brand’s products.

Markle is continuing to grow her brand digitally, which royal expert Jennie Bond believes is the key to any brand’s success. The former BBC royal correspondent told Mirror, “I think she’s right to keep everything fresh and new.” Bond added that people today are always looking for something different, which is why brands constantly need to rethink their strategies.

Bond further explained, “Since being an influencer and entrepreneur through her social media now seems to be her chosen career path, Meghan needs to take it seriously and keep her followers engaged.”

As for Prince Harry, he continues to focus on charitable work. Bond also pointed out that while the Sussexes have criticized certain aspects of the digital world, they still rely on it professionally. She said, “I suppose it’s somewhat ironic that his wife now pretty much depends on the digital world for her commercial success. But it’s where we are all at, and you can’t put the genie back in the bottle.”
