When one charter ends, another begins. And, with that, Bravo viewers are about to embark on another season of Below Deck Mediterranean, which Captain Sandy Yawn has just teased will be one of the best yet…
How does Captain Sandy Yawn deal with Below Deck Mediterranean drama?

Below Deck Med will return this week, and ahead of Season 11, Sandy spoke to OK! Magazine about what fans can expect … which is a lot of chaos.
Most notably, Sandy revealed there is contention between this season’s staff. The legendary Aesha Scott is reprising her role as chief stew, but it’s friends turned foes Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher who will have much of the spotlight.
“Joe and Nathan are not how they were the season before,” the captain said of the former BFFs. “They were bros. They were in a bromance. Now they’re in a … I don’t know what it is.”
“I’m hoping they can work it out. It’s not easy to watch,” she went on. “It’s very disturbing because they were so close. You want them to end on a great note. That’s always my goal.”
Beyond the drama, Sandy believes that Below Deck Med will always be at a different level to its counterpart franchises. “I don’t want anyone to get mad at me, but it’s the standard,” she said. “The Mediterranean has a standard. I’m not saying that [Below Deck] Down Under or Below Deck doesn’t, but … it’s very different.”
Elsewhere in her chat, Sandy celebrated being at the helm of the show for the past decade. “It’s amazingly cool,” she said. “Every time I go back to film, it’s so fun. Yes, it’s challenging. Yes, it’s a lot of work, but we laugh more than we cry. That’s all that matters.”
Below Deck Mediterranean premieres on Monday, June 8, at 8/7c on Bravo. Each episode streams on Peacock on the following day.
