Ben Shapiro said his “dream booking” would be an invitation to appear on The View. The 42-year-old right-wing commentator said he would “love” the opportunity to have a conversation with Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sunny Hostin.

During an appearance on August 7, Shapiro joined Bill O’Reilly on his We’ll Do It LIVE! podcast. O’Reilly asked Shapiro about his access to mainstream media, particularly Disney. He claimed the network was “alienating half the country” through what he described as a “radical” approach to its programming. He pointed to news coverage and entertainment shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as examples.
O’Reilly then asked Shapiro, “Can you get on The View or Good Morning America? Would they book you?” To which the political commentator, who has frequently criticized the ABC daytime show, admitted, “I’ve been trying to get on The View for years. That is a dream booking for me. There’s nothing I would love better than to have a conversation with Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin.”
Shapiro described himself as “a bit of a hate-watching fan” of the show. “I would definitely appreciate a booking slot, but that has never been in the offing despite 10 years of trying to get myself booked,” he explained.
O’Reilly said his appearances on The View ended after Barbara Walters left the show in 2014. Behar said in October 2025 that she would like to see more Republicans appear on The View, reports the New York Post. She claimed that some are “scared” to come on the show. Vice President JD Vance, however, made his debut on the program earlier this year. His appearance on ABC’s show drew 3.3 million viewers.
According to OK! Magazine, the FCC is investigating the show over the equal-time rule. The regulation requires broadcasters to provide qualifying political candidates with equal airtime opportunities.
