Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s grand U.S. dream has reportedly been “shattered” amid rumors of the couple’s return to the UK. For those unfamiliar, the Sussexes stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and relocated to the U.S. to build fame and fortune on their own terms. However, after several projects and personal ventures failed to make the mark, it appears the Sussexes may have finally given up on their American dream and could be heading back to Harry’s home country.
Source suggests Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s American dream seems over amid reported UK return
Sources attached to Radar Online revealed that the real reason behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported UK return is that their American dream failed to materialize. The Sussexes are expected to be back in the UK by the end of the month, and their children will begin school in Britain in September.
However, the couple will not live in royal accommodation and will instead reside in a private home. They will reportedly continue to retain their California and Portugal homes. Also, as per reports, they will not resume their duties as working royals and will instead focus on their personal ventures.
A source explained that when the Sussexes first moved to America, they were confident that they could leverage their royal status and build an empire. Unfortunately, things did not pan out as expected. The insider dished: “They had extraordinary deals, access to virtually anyone in Hollywood, and a level of global attention that very few people could command. Six years later, the landscape looks dramatically different, and their American dream essentially lies shattered.”
Furthermore, the source explained that the only projects that created some impact were those in which Harry and Meghan discussed the royal family. Unfortunately, the other projects were either shelved or did not generate any buzz. Moreover, some of the biggest names in the industry, like Oprah Winfrey and Ted Sarandos, have reportedly distanced themselves from the couple.
The source noted: “Moving the children to Britain is therefore much more significant than simply spending additional time there.” Adding, “It represents a major change in direction for the entire family. They are keeping their home in California and aren’t shutting the door on America.”
